8th Grade White Football Team
The 8th grade white football team won their game against Ypsi last night 16 to 14. Austin Malabanan scored a touchdown and extra point. Bobby Slusher returned a fumble for a touchdown and Austin Hammer scored an extra point. The offense was led by Austin Malabanan, Alex Salzmann, David Keysor, and Kyle Stinninger. The defense was led by Bobby Slusher, Coby McManaman, Joey Bachli, Dylan Price, and Kyle Hennessey. Matt Brubaker and Kyle Hennessey had interceptions.
7th Grade White Football Team
The 7th grade white football team lost their game against Ypsi last night 14 to 6. Mike Dulbs scored the touchdown and ran the ball well. Christian Brown played well on both sides of the ball. Jacob Kish and Luke Andrews blocked well. The defense was led by Alex Newcombe, Mason Rimmer, and Alex Kudja, who had an interception.
Girls Cross Country Team
The girl's cross country team finished their season in Dexter on Saturday. The team faced strong competitors and took 12th place out of 18 teams. Earning medals for finishing in the top 100 for Varisity race were Alli Smith, Baylee Canning and Brianna Pauli. Makayla Orner, Jillian Falzone, Elizabeth Chang and Brooke Flowers all just missed the top 100.
In the 7th grade Reserve race, Dayna Dec took 5th place out of 92 runners and Abby Anderson took 31st.
Every girl on the team ran a personal best time on the last race, the second to last race or came very close. Congratulations on a great season!

Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week begins on Thursday October 23rd and ends on Thursday October 30th. The purpose of the Red Ribbon Campaign is to present a visible commitment to a safe, healthy and drug-free lifestyle. The campaign is designed to accomplish the following:- to create awareness concerning the problems related to the use of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs
- to support the decision to live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
The NJHS members have created a week of fun themes for students to participate in showing their commitment to being drug free. The themes are as follows:
Thursday, October 23: "Get Red of Drugs" (All students and teachers will be asked wear red to represent the start of Red Ribbon Week.)
Friday, October 24: "Chase Your Dreams, Not Drugs" (Students and teachers will have the opportunity to wear pajamas to school.)
Monday, October 27: "Don't Let Drugs Win" (Students and teachers are encouraged to wear any type of apparel related to sports.)
Tuesday, October 28: "Team Up Against Drugs" (Each grade will be assigned a color to wear this day. The teachers will also be given a designated color.)
Wednesday, October 29: "I'm Crazy, But NOT For Drugs" (Students and teachers are encouraged to look as crazy as possible. This could mean crazy hair, backwards clothing, mismatch clothing, et cetera...)
Thursday, October 30: "Scare Off Drugs" (Students and teachers are allowed to wear costumes. Please keep in mind the dress code and school rules when choosing your outfit. No weapons, halter tops, shorts above fingertips, et cetera.)

Halloween Bake Sale

Anti- Bullying Poster Contest
Almost everyone has seen someone being picked on by a bully. It's not nice.
Bullies can make school an unpleasant place for their victims.
What are some things YOU can do to make your school a place where no one gets bullied?
Create a poster that shows what YOU can do to stop bullying at BJHS. Your poster must be turned in to Mrs. Currie in Room 220 by Monday October 27,2014.

Please remember that you can return to your locker after practice to retrieve your Chromebook. Chromebooks should never be left unattended, in the gymnasium, or under a tree. It is important to remember that each student with a Chromebook signed an agreement at the beginning of the school year that states...
