Attention Families

If you are interested in the medical and healthcare field, want to experience leadership skills, use teamwork, express your creativity, build connections and friendships, and compete in regional, state, and national competitions, consider joining HOSA!

HOSA is a global student led organization, and stands for health occupations student of America where students from different schools compete in events!  You don't even need to be interested in medicine!  This is a great opportunity to try something new, find a new passion, learn new skills, and explore by preparing, competing, winning awards, and having fun!!  There is a huge range of events to choose from for you to compete in!  The cost is $20 to join.  You will have to spend time preparing for your even and put in the time commitment, meeting at least once a week after school and working on your own time.  So if you're interest, please attend the informational meeting being held Wednesday, September 29 during 4th hour in the choir room. 

Attention all junior high girls. Join Mrs. Hemry on Tuesday, October 12 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. for GET-IT (Girls Exploring Together - Information Technology) You will explore the many facets of computer science from the comfort of your own school building. Corporate sponsors from Ally, Dow and Ford Motor Company will provide workshops, demonstrations, and hands-on learning experiences highlighting how technology is used in their companies. This event demonstrates why a career in technology can be fun and inspiring. See Mrs. Hemry in room 34 (across from the attendance office) or email her at jennifer.hemry@mybedford.us if you are interested in attending.

SPORTS 

Bedford 8th grade volleyball defeated Ypsilanti Middle School in all 3 sets. 25-10W, 25-13W, 25-17W. Sydney Ruiz served strong and earned 3 aces! Kaila Calgie had nice ball control when hitting. Go mules!

REMINDERS 

  • Masks must be worn on the bus at all times. Students not complying with this will be written up and suspended from the bus.
  • Students - when you are coming in the building from the busses, please use the sidewalk, not the island by the busses to come into the school.
  • Dress code must be adhered to at the Junior High.  Shorts and skirts must be mid-thigh or PAST the palm of your hand.  Hoods must be taken off upon entering the building.  No holes in jeans that show skin, even at the knees.  Please review the Dress Code in its entirety.

Bedford 8th grade volleyball put up a fight against Adrian Monday night. They won 1 out of 3 sets. 25-14L, 26-24L, 25-7W. Erin M. had great ball control and kept the team talking.

The boys cross country team won again on Friday at the Jackson Invitational, placing 1st out of the 19 teams at the race.  They were led once again by Cam V., who raced to 3rd place out of the 302 runners in the race.  2nd for the team was Dane H. followed closely by Maddi D., Bryce M., Brandon M. and Gaige B.  Aaron M. ran his best time of the year, as did Riley M., Matthew B. and Nathaniel K.  The boys have 5 more races this season.  Wish them luck as they try to keep their winning streak going.

SPORTS 

The girls cross country team raced on Wednesday at the SEC Jamboree 1 at Rolling Hills Park. Even though conditions were rainy and windy, 10 girls earned personal records including: Ella J., Mackenzie D., Coeli H., Ava T., Stella M., Tayah C., Kennedy V., Kaylee S., Paige B., and Maddi T.    Iva R., Sophia J., Aubrey M., Danielle W., Keirnan K., Sophia S., and Ashlyn W. also had great finishes. Today the girls will be racing at the Jackson Middle School Invitational. Good Luck Ladies!! 

The boys cross country team took 1st place at the SEC league meet on Wednesday beating all 9 league schools.  Bedford was once again led by super star 7th grader Cam V. won took 1st place overall as league champion.  Cam was followed closely by Maddi D. and Dane H. who placed 2nd and 4th overall out of the almost 300 boys running.  Others running well were Gavin T., Nathaniel K., Chase W., Aaron M., Thomas H., and Owen S.

8th grade Volleyball beat Monroe in all three sets. 25-17W, 25-11W, and 25-14W. Wryley D. and Jaylee B. served strong and kept their teammates positive on the court. Zoe D. hustled the entire time. Nice work girls!

7th Grade Volleyball   

7th grade won 25-5,25-11,25-18 vs Jackson Parkside.  Hayden F. led with 14 service points, Blair R. had 10 points and Anna G. had 9 points.

8th Grade Volleyball

The Bedford 8th grade volleyball team defeated Jackson Parkside in all three sets. The scores were 25-13, 25-12, and 25-20. Ruby W. served strong and earned the team many aces! Jayda Y. stepped up in the back row as a team leader by keeping the team talking and passing well. Great game girls! Go mules!

 PTO WELCOME BACK DANCE

The PTO Welcome Back Dance will be held this Thursday, September 23 from 2:30PM - 4:30PM.  $5.00 wristbands will be sold during your lunch hour beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, September 21st.

FUNDRAISER

The schoolwide fundraiser is going on now through October 4th.  Please be showing our catalogs to friends and family only and remember there is an online option for selling too!

NJHS

Reminder, NJHS forms are due to room # 223 by September 24, 2021 


CLUBS ✔ 

Bible Fellowship Club will be meeting on Thursdays, after school in Room #23, until 3:30PM.  Therefore, everyone must have a ride at 3:30PM.  All are welcome and encouraged to attend.  If you have any questions, please See Mrs. Brown in Room #23.

He has an AWESOME collection of new virtual and in-person makerspace activities to choose from (virtual makerspaces, 3D puzzles, KNEX, origami, adult coloring books, little bits engineering kits, squishy engineering kits, virtual reality goggles, drones, ozbots, etc.). We will meet every Wednesday in the JHS Media Center during homeroom times between 10:30 and 12:30pm.  Join the JHS Makerspace Club and make some new friends!

SPORTS 

The junior high boys cross country team took 2nd out of 14 teams at the Dave's Running Cross Country Invite in Toledo on Saturday.  The boys have beaten every team they faced this season except for 1.  They earned another cool trophy, on display in the office.  The top runner was once again Cam V.  Cam was followed closely by Dane H, then Brandon and Bryce M and Gage B.  Runners who ran personal best times were Maddi D., Ramzy T., Brody M., Anthony K., Chase W., Logan T., AJ V., Sawyer P., Nathan D., Riley M., Quinn H., Owen S., Andrew H., and Nathaniel K..  Great job boys.

SPORTS 

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

The Junior High boys cross country team took 2nd out of 28 teams on Saturday at the Tiffin Cross Country Invitational.  Their trophy is on display in the office, so check it out when you get the chance. 
 
The team was led by the impressive 7th grader Cam V. who took 8th overall out of the 350 boys running.  Cam was followed closely by 8th graders Dane H., Brandon M., Gage B., and Bryce M..  Other runners who ran well were Maddi D., Ranzy T., Aaron M., Sawyer P., Riley M., Gaige R., Matthew B., Owen S. and Andrew H..  
 
The boys run next on Saturday at the Dave's Running Cross Country Invitational in Toledo.
