FOOTBALL GAMES

Attention Families

Students in Grades 6 - 8 need to be accompanied by an adult and sti with said adult during the game.  Students that do not have an accompanied adult will not be allowed to enter.  Thank you for your cooperation. 

CRAFT SHOW

***CANCELLED***

Due to the unforeseen future of the pandemic we will be canceling our annual craft show! We have made our decision based on the concern of the community and some past vendors. We feel we won't have the control to keep everyone safe at this time. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause!

FUNDRAISER

The schoolwide fundraiser is going on now through October 4th.  Please be showing our catalogs to friends and family only and remember there is an online option for selling too!

CLUBS ✔ 

Bible Fellowship Club will be meeting on Thursdays, after school in Room #23, until 3:30PM.  Therefore, everyone must have a ride at 3:30PM.  All are welcome and encouraged to attend.  If you have any questions, please See Mrs. Brown in Room #23.

Want to join the JHS Makerspace Club? Just email Mr. Korycinski through the JHS Library Schoology Group or email at james.korycinski@mybedford.us and tell him that you want to join. He has an AWESOME collection of new virtual and in-person makerspace activities to choose from (virtual makerspaces, 3D puzzles, KNEX, origami, adult coloring books, little bits engineering kits, squishy engineering kits, virtual reality goggles, drones, ozbots, etc.). We will meet every Wednesday in the JHS Media Center during homeroom times between 10:30 and 12:30pm.  Join the JHS Makerspace Club and make some new friends!

Want to join the JHS Book Club? Just email Mr. Korycinski through the JHS Library Schoology Group or email at james.korycinski@mybedford.us and tell him that you want to join. He has an AWESOME list of new junior high titles to choose from. We will pick one book per month to read and will meet every Wednesday in the JHS Media Center during homeroom times between 10:30 and 12:30. If you cannot make it during homeroom time we will also meet in the JHS Library ZOOM ROOM every Wednesday from 5-6 pm.  Join the Book Club for lively discussion and new friends! 

If you are interested in the medical and healthcare field, want to experience leadership skills, use teamwork, express your creativity, build connections and friendships, and compete in regional, state, and national competitions, consider joining HOSA!

HOSA is a global student led organization, and stands for health occupations student of America where students from different schools compete in events!  You don't even need to be interested in medicine!  This is a great opportunity to try something new, find a new passion, learn new skills, and explore by preparing, competing, winning awards, and having fun!!  There is a huge range of events to choose from for you to compete in!  The cost is $20 to join.  You will have to spend time preparing for your even and put in the time commitment, meeting at least once a week after school and working on your own time.  So if you're interest, please attend the informational meeting being held Wednesday, September 29 during 4th hour in the choir room. 

Attention all junior high girls. Join Mrs. Hemry on Tuesday, October 12 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. for GET-IT (Girls Exploring Together - Information Technology) You will explore the many facets of computer science from the comfort of your own school building. Corporate sponsors from Ally, Dow and Ford Motor Company will provide workshops, demonstrations, and hands-on learning experiences highlighting how technology is used in their companies. This event demonstrates why a career in technology can be fun and inspiring. See Mrs. Hemry in room 34 (across from the attendance office) or email her at jennifer.hemry@mybedford.us if you are interested in attending.

SPORTS 

Bedford 8th grade volleyball defeated Ypsilanti Middle School in all 3 sets. 25-10W, 25-13W, 25-17W. Sydney Ruiz served strong and earned 3 aces! Kaila Calgie had nice ball control when hitting. Go mules!

REMINDERS 

  • Masks must be worn on the bus at all times. Students not complying with this will be written up and suspended from the bus.
  • Students - when you are coming in the building from the busses, please use the sidewalk, not the island by the busses to come into the school.
  • Dress code must be adhered to at the Junior High.  Shorts and skirts must be mid-thigh or PAST the palm of your hand.  Hoods must be taken off upon entering the building.  No holes in jeans that show skin, even at the knees.  Please review the Dress Code in its entirety.
  • No Student Pick Up at the Front of the Building.
