Students, this is a message from the media center.  Today is May 30th, and it is the last due date for books from the media center.  It is time for ALL books that are checked out to students to be returned to the media center.  Stop down to the media center if you have any questions.  A reminder; any student having a late book or overdue fine will not be able to view their final grades on HAC, or get their schedule for next year.

AMERICA'S CULTURE ESSAY RESULTS
Students who took the America's Cultures essay test for next year will receive their results next week.

HIGH SCHOOL - TESTING OUT APPLICATIONS
Summer testing out applications are online at the high school counseling page for next year's freshman. High school applications with paid deposits must be turned in to the high school main office before the end of the day today, May 30, 2014.

AFTER SCHOOL CODING -  GRADES 6, 7, 8 
After School Coding Club meets on Tuesdays in lab 34 with Mrs. Adkins from 2:30-3:30 p.m.  Build some awesome apps and games with friends. Be sure to have a ride home.

JUNIOR HIGH CROSS COUNTRY
Are you a 6th or 7th grade boy or girl who wants to get in shape?  Do you want to get better at running? Maybe you are just bored and want to try something new.  Join the Cross Country Team this fall.  Everyone who joins the team will get in better shape, be a better runner, and have fun being part of a team. If  you are interested, talk to Coach Jakubowski in room # 24 or see Coach Davis in room # 2. Or, if you are a 6th grader, go see Mrs. Scheffer in room # 221.  Just give them  your name and email.
      
MIDDLE SCHOOL CHEER TRYOUTS  - 
Hey incoming 7th and 8th grade ladies!  (Current 6 and 7th graders) Cheer tryouts will be held on June 9th, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and Thursday, June 12th, from 5-7 p.m.. We will be holding a short parent meeting on Thursday, June 9th, at 5:30 p.m.  The location will be announced soon!  If you didn’t make it to the clinic, please email us to receive the paperwork and sign in with us at bedfordcheer@gmail.com. All participants must have a physical on file.

HIGH SCHOOL SIDELINE CHEER TRYOUTS
Hey incoming freshman ladies! (Current 8th graders)  A sideline cheer clinic will be held TODAY, May 30th, from 2:45-5:00 p.m. for those who want to cheer at the high school level! Come and meet us TODAY to learn tryout material, pick up a tryout packet, and meet new friends, and ask questions!  Official tryouts are on Monday, June 2nd, from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, June 5th, from 5-7 p.m. and Friday, June 6th, from 2:45-5:00 p.m. If you can’t make it on the Friday, please email us to receive the paperwork and sign in: bedfordcheer@gmail.com. All participants must have a physical on file.


 VARSITY SOCCER
Coach Kish, the Varsity Boys' Soccer Coach at the High School, will be holding an informational meeting on Tuesday, June 3, at 2:45 pm in the Old Gym at the High School for graduating 8th graders who are interested in playing high school soccer in the Fall. 

HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS PHYSICALS
High school sports physicals will be available on Wednesday, June 4, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bedford High School for only $20; cash only.  Please arrive no later than 5:00 p.m. to guarantee you will be seen.  Athletes need to arrive with their physical exam/medical history form filled out and signed by a parent, which can be found on the MHSAA website at www.mhsaa.com   Contact Mercy Sports Medicine Online (419) 343-0005. 

SUMMER DRIVER EDUCATION CLASSES
Attention 8th graders; if you have a birthday by October 16, October 23, or November 14, 1999, or earlier, you are eligible to take summer driver education classes.  There are three segment 1's this summer. Forms a are available in the main office.

JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMERS - SUMMER SWIM CAMP - JUNE 26-28
There will be an All American Swim Camp at the Francis Family YMCA June 26-28, 2014.  Coaches will be:  NCAA All American Swimmers, Collegiate Coaches and Former Olympians.  If you are interested in attending, please pick up a flyer in the office; or see Swim Coach, Mrs. Bauer in the health room.  

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS' SWIM AND DIVE TEAM 
If you are an 8th grade girl interested in being on the Bedford High School Girls' Swim and Dive Team for Fall, 2014, there will be a brief meeting on Thursday, June 5, at 2:45 p.m. in the junior high cafeteria.  If you have any questions, please see Coach Bauer in the health room.

BEDFORD VOLLEYBALL CAMP - GRADES 6, 7, 8
There will be a Bedford Volleyball Camp this summer for girls in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.  Please pick up a flyer in the office if you are interested.  Register early to make sure you don't get closed out!

Any girls interested in becoming a football trainer for the 7th or 8th grade football team next season (current 6th and 7th graders) should see Mr. Muck in room # 201 to pick up an application.

Any girls currently in 8th grade interested in becoming a football trainer for 9th grade next season should see Mr. Vergeils in room # 231 to pick up an application.

The deadline to turn in an application is Friday, June 4, 2014.  

FOOTBALL REGISTRATION 
All students interested in playing football in the fall - Please check your gmail for a football registration form. Fill it out and submit it - ASAP.

FRESHMAN FOOTBALL
For all those interested in playing FRESHMAN football, there is an informational packet available from Mr. Vergiels.  Please stop in room # 231 as soon as possible.  Also, there is a meeting on Tuesday, June 3, in the high school auditorium from 2:30-3:30 p.m. for all students interested in playing football in grades 9-12.

AFTER SCHOOL EVENTS
Students should ride the bus home after school.  If they wish to attend or watch an after school event, parents should bring them back to school.  Students are NOT allowed to wander the hallways during events.  If you do come back to school, or stay after school to participate in a club, please be sure to stay in the area you belong in.

BE PROMPT!  DON'T MISS YOUR BUS
After school, when going out to your bus, be prompt!  The bus drivers will not allow students on the bus after 2:33 p.m.

"Thanks" to all students who came out and made a difference on the Green Team.  What a great job you have done in making a difference to the junior high grounds.  We had a small celebration in Room 
#40 before school yesterday, and we will have another one today, May 28, after school.

BEDFORD VOLLEYBALL CAMP - GRADES 6, 7, 8
There will be a Bedford Volleyball Camp this summer for girls in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.  Please pick up a flyer in the office if you are interested.  Register early to make sure you don't get closed out!

BE PROMPT!  DON'T MISS YOUR BUS
After school, when going out to your bus, be prompt!  The bus drivers will not allow students on the bus after 2:33 p.m.

THE GREEN TEAM -GRADES 6, 7, 8
"Thanks" to all students who came out and made a difference on the Green Team.  What a great job you have done in making a difference to the junior high grounds.  We had a small celebration in Room 
#40 before school today, and we will have another one tomorrow, May 28, after school.

After School Coding Club meets on Tuesdays in lab 34 with Mrs. Adkins from 2:30-3:30 p.m.  Build some awesome apps and games with friends. Be sure to have a ride home.

Also, all girls from track and field must clean out their lockers in the girls' physical education locker room today and return their locks to Mrs. Ewing.

JUNIOR HIGH CROSS COUNTRY
Are you a 6th or 7th grade boy or girl who wants to get in shape?  Do you want to get better at running? Maybe you are just bored and want to try something new.  Join the Cross Country Team this fall.  Everyone who joins the team will get in better shape, be a better runner, and have fun being part of a team. If  you are interested, talk to Coach Jakubowski in room # 24 or see Coach Davis in room # 2. Or, if you are a 6th grader, go see Mrs. Scheffer in room # 221.  Just give them  your name and email.
      
MIDDLE SCHOOL CHEER TRYOUTS  
Hey incoming 7th and 8th grade ladies!  (Current 6 and 7th graders) We are holding a sideline cheer clinic just for you on Thursday, May 29th, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the high school practice gym! Come meet us and learn material you will need to know for tryouts on Monday, June 9th, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and Thursday, June 12th, from 5-7 p.m.. We will be holding a short parent meeting on Thursday, June 9th, at 5:30 p.m.  The location will be announced soon!  If you can’t make it on May 29th, please email us to receive the paperwork and sign in with us at bedfordcheer@gmail.com. All participants must have a physical on file.

Hey incoming freshman ladies! (Current 8th graders)  A sideline cheer clinic will be held on Friday, May 30th, from 2:45-5:00 p.m. for those who want to cheer at the high school level!
