NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTIONS

8TH GRADE PANORAMIC PICTURES
We have a few extra panoramic pictures available to purchase.  The cost is $15, and they are in the office.

Twirler tryouts are TODAY, May 20, at 2:45 p.m. in the BHS band room.
Drum Line tryouts - See Mr. Meggitt for audition music.  Tryouts will be May 29th,  at 4:00 p.m. in the BHS band room.

AFTER SCHOOL CODING -  GRADES 6, 7, 8 - MEETS TODAY
After School Coding Club meets on Tuesdays in lab 34 with Mrs. Adkins from 2:30-3:30 p.m.  Build some awesome apps and games with friends. Be sure to have a ride home.  

THE GREEN TEAM - GRADES 6, 7, 8
The Green Team is having fun and making a difference. The Green Team  meets twice this week, on Wednesday and Thursday,  from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.  Bring your gloves, and be prepared to work.  Meet in Mrs. Nimigean's room # 40.  Be sure to have a ride home!

TRACK
Last night the Lady Broncos hosted Dexter in its final home meet of the season.  Dexter proved to be just a little too tough for our Bedford team.
Final Team scores for the evening were:    Dexter    79           Bedford     58
First Place finishes for the Lady Broncos were:
4 x 800 Meter Relay team of Sarah Koviak, Abby Monroe, Selena Sandoval and Kalliyan Lagger
Olivia Cook in the 800 Meter Run and High Jump
Kaitlin Kochendoerfer in the 1600 Meter Run
Kate Chuhy in the 400 Meter Run
Aleah Clements in the 200 Meter Hurdles
And Kalliyan Lagger in the 200 Meter Dash

Their final meet for the season is Wednesday at Chelsea


The boys’ team lost to Dexter yesterday 70 - 67.
Colin Woolford won the 100 M dash (13.53) and pole vault (8'6").
Michael Greeley won the 200 M dash (25.07) and long jump (17'5.5")
Elijah Flood won the high jump (4'11")
Dalton Krott took first in the 70 M dash (9.53) and third in high jump (4/7")
Brady Long was 2nd in high jump (4'9") third in the 400 M dash (1:02.1)and 200 M hurdles (32.03)
Caleb Gill was victorious in the 400 (1:01.6)
Darric Garcia was 2nd in long jump (14'5") and 400 M dash (1:01.8)
Ryan Whipple was third in the long jump (14' 3.5") and 7o M dash (10.2)
Seth Murphy was 2nd in the 200 M hurdles (31.4)
Noah Scheffer and Jacob Gladieaux finished tied for third at pole vault.
Great job by everyone!

8TH GRADE SOFTBALL
The 8th grade softball team will travel to Monroe to play their double header at Rosessler Park Field beginning at 4:00 p.m.  Go Broncos!


MIDDLE SCHOOL CHEER TRYOUTS  
Hey incoming 7th and 8th grade ladies!  (Current 6 and 7Th graders) We are holding a sideline cheer clinic just for you on Thursday, May 29th, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the high school practice gym! Come meet us and learn material you will need to know for tryouts on Monday, June 9th, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and Thursday, June 12th, from 5-7 p.m.. We will be holding a short parent meeting on Thursday, June 9th, at 5:30 p.m.  The location will be announced soon! If you can’t make it on May 29th, please email us to receive the paperwork and sign in with us at bedfordcheer@gmail.com. All participants must have a physical on file.

HIGH SCHOOL SIDELINE CHEER TRYOUTS
Hey incoming freshman ladies! (Current 8th graders)  A sideline cheer clinic will be held on Friday, May 30th, from 2:45-5:00 p.m. for those who want to cheer at the high school level! Come and meet us on May 30th to learn tryout material, pick up a tryout packet, and meet new friends, and ask questions!  Official tryouts are on Monday, June 2nd, from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, June 5th, from 5-7 p.m. and Friday, June 6th, from 2:45-5:00 p.m. If you can’t make it on the Friday, please email us to receive the paperwork and sign in: bedfordcheer@gmail.com. All participants must have a physical on file.


HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS PHYSICALS
High school sports physicals will be available on Wednesday, June 4, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bedford High School for only $20; cash only.  Please arrive no later than 5:00 p.m. to guarantee you will be seen.  Athletes need to arrive with their physical exam/medical history form filled out and signed by a parent, which can be found on the MHSAA website at www.mhsaa.com   Contact Mercy Sports Medicine Online (419) 343-0005. 

GIRLS' GOLF AT HIGH SCHOOL NEXT YEAR - MEETING TOMORROW
For those 8th grade girls interested in playing Girls Golf at the High School next year, there will be a brief meeting right after school in the junior high cafeteria on Wednesday, May 21.

HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY-INFORMATIONAL MEETING TODAY
All 8th grade girls and boys interested in running cross country at the high school in the fall should plan to attend the informational meeting for parents and athletes on TODAY, May 20, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. Parents and girl athletes should meet in room # 2 with Mr. Davis. Parents and boys will meet in the media center with Mr. Earl.  Please see Coach Davis in room # 2 for more information.

JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMERS - SUMMER SWIM CAMP - JUNE 26-28
There will be an All American Swim Camp at the Francis Family YMCA June 26-28, 2014.  Coaches will be:  NCAA All American Swimmers, Collegiate Coaches and Former Olympians.  If you are interested in attending, please pick up a flyer in the office; or see Swim Coach, Mrs. Bauer in the health room.  

BEDFORD VOLLEYBALL CAMP - GRADES 6, 7, 8
There will be a Bedford Volleyball Camp this summer for girls in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.  Please pick up a flyer in the office if you are interested.  Register early to make sure you don't get closed out! 

ATTENTION ALL GIRLS IN GRADES 7-9 - FOOTBALL TRAINERS
Any girls interested in becoming a football trainer for the 7th or 8th grade football team next season should see Mr. Muck in room # 201 to pick up an application.

Any girls currently in 8th grade interested in becoming a football trainer for 9th grade next season should see Mr. Vergeils in room # 231 to pick up an application.

The deadline to turn in an application is Friday, June 4, 2014.  

AFTER SCHOOL EVENTS
Students should ride the bus home after school.  If they wish to attend or watch an after school event, parents should bring them back to school.  Students are NOT allowed to wander the hallways during events.  If you do come back to school, or stay after school to participate in a club, please be sure to stay in the area you belong in.

BE PROMPT!  DON'T MISS YOUR BUS
After school, when going out to your bus, be prompt!  The bus drivers will not allow students on the bus after 2:33 p.m.  

NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY
NJHS students should remember to check their email for upcoming events.

8TH HOUR
