RELAY FOR LIFE - BUY A FOOT!
Relay for Life is this Saturday, May 17th.  In order to support the cause, BJHS students can buy a foot during lunches for 1 dollar. Also, suckers may be purchased during lunch time to benefit Relay for Life.

8TH GRADE PANORAMIC PICTURES
We have a few extra panoramic pictures available to purchase.  The cost is $15, and they are in the office.

Twirler tryouts are May 20, at 2:45 p.m. in the BHS band room
Drum Line tryouts - See Mr. Meggitt for audition music after May 19th.  Tryouts will be May 29th,  at

AFTER SCHOOL CODING -  GRADES 6, 7, 8 
After School Coding Club meets on Tuesdays in lab 34 with Mrs. Adkins from 2:30-3:30 p.m.  Build some awesome apps and games with friends. Be sure to have a ride home.  

THE GREEN TEAM - GRADES 6, 7, 8
The Green Team is having fun and making a difference. The Green Team  meets twice each week from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.    Bring your gloves, and be prepared to work.  Meet in Mrs. Nimigean's room # 40.  Be sure to have a ride home!

8TH GRADE SOFTBALL
The 8th Grade Girls' softball team lost twice to Dundee last night. Game 1 we lost a heartbreaker in the last inning, 5-4, when we couldn't hold a one-run lead. Claire Asmus, pitched,struck out 8 batters, and had a hit. Koryn King had a hit and 2 stolen bases. Megan Tillman had a hit and 3 stolen bases. In the 2nd game Koryn King had a triple but it wasn't enough as we lost 10-3.  Maddy  Zumbawa, Jordan Costlow, and Megan Tillman each had 2 hits in the doubleheader. Our record is now 7-3.
The 8th grade softball team will host their double header today against Saline beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the high school JV field   Go Broncos!!!

TRACK RESULTS
Last night the Lady Broncos traveled to Lincoln for a dual meet.  It was a cold day for an exciting Track and Field Meet.
Final score for the evening was   Lincoln  74     Bedford  67
First Place Finishers for the Lady Broncos were:

Olivia Cook in the 800 Meter Run
Kaitlyn Kochendoerfer in the 1600 Meter Run

Next Meet is Monday at home against Dexter
The boys junior high team lost a close one at Lincoln yesterday 77 - 60.  The 800 M relay team of Dalton Krott, Elijah Flood, Caleb Gill, and Colin Woolford finished first in a time of 1:48.56 to keep the relay team undefeated for the year.

Elijah Flood was also 2nd in the high jump (4'8") and third in the 200 M dash (26.76)
Colin Woolford also won pole vault (9'6") and 2nd in the 100 M dash (12.63)
1600 M relay team of Darric Garcia, Noah Scheffer, Michael Greeley, and Caleb Gill took 1st in 4:17.81.
Michael Greeley was also first in the 200 M dash (25.49) and long jump( 17'4")
Noah Scheffer 3rd in pole vault (7'6")
Darric Garcia 2nd in the mile (5:43)
Brady Long took first in the 400 M dash (1:02.38) and high jump (4'10")
Austin Emerson first in shot put ( 36'11")

HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS PHYSICALS
High school sports physicals will be available on Wednesday, June 4, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bedford High School for only $20; cash only.  Please arrive no later than 5:00 p.m. to guarantee you will be seen.  Athletes need to arrive with their physical exam/medical history form filled out and signed by a parent, which can be found on the MHSAA website at www.mhsaa.com   Contact Mercy Sports Medicine Hotline (419) 343-0005. 

GIRLS' GOLF AT HIGH SCHOOL NEXT YEAR
For those 8th grade girls interested in playing Girls Golf at the High School next year, there will be a brief meeting right after school in the Junior High cafeteria on Wednesday, May 21.

HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY
All 8th grade girls and boys interested in running cross country at the high school in the fall should plan to attend the informational meeting for parents and athletes on TUESDAY, May 20, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. Parents and girl athletes should meet in room # 2 with Mr. Davis. Parents and boys will meet in the media center with Mr. Earl.  Please see Coach Davis in room # 2 for more information.

JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMERS - SUMMER SWIM CAMP - JUNE 26-28
There will be an All American Swim Camp at the Francis Family YMCA June 26-28, 2014.  Coaches will be:  NCAA All American Swimmers, Collegiate Coaches and Former Olympians.  If you are interested in attending, please pick up a flyer in the office; or see Swim Coach, Mrs. Bauer in the health room.  

BEDFORD VOLLEYBALL CAMP - GRADES 6, 7, 8
There will be a Bedford Volleyball Camp this summer for girls in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.  Please pick up a flyer in the office if you are interested.  Register early to make sure you don't get closed out! 

ATTENTION ALL GIRLS IN GRADES 7-9 - FOOTBALL TRAINERS
Any girls interested in becoming a football trainer for the 7th or 8th grade football team next season should see Mr. Muck in room # 201 to pick up an application.

Any girls currently in 8th grade interested in becoming a football trainer for 9th grade next season should see Mr. Vergeils in room # 231 to pick up an application.

The deadline to turn in an application is Friday, June 4, 2014.  

AFTER SCHOOL EVENTS
Students should ride the bus home after school.  If they wish to attend or watch an after school event, parents should bring them back to school.  Students are NOT allowed to wander the hallways during events.  If you do come back to school, or stay after school to participate in a club, please be sure to stay in the area you belong in.

BE PROMPT!  DON'T MISS YOUR BUS
After school, when going out to your bus, be prompt!  The bus drivers will not allow students on the bus after 2:33 p.m.  

NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY
NJHS students should remember to check their email for upcoming events.

8TH HOUR
