VOLLEY FOR THE CURE
Please help support the volleyball team in the fight against cancer. T-shirts are on sale in the school office (ON DISPLAY) for $10 which will get you into the match free. Come to the match on Tuesday, October 2nd against Skyline. There will be lots of opportunities to win prizes and buy delicious baked goods!

CODING CLUB
8th graders Coding club will meet in room #50, Ms. May's room after school on Friday. Please have a ride home at 3:30pm.

WHITE OUT SHIRTS
Volunteers from the Football Parents will be selling WHITE OUT shirts to benefit Connor Bartlett and his family today at lunch hours. $5 and all proceeds go to the family.

START WITH HELLO 2018
September 24th-28th NJHS will be leading our school in participating in "Start With Hello Week". Start With Hello Week is organized by Sandy Hook Promise, a nonprofit organization led by several family members who lost loved ones at the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting on December 14th, 2012. Based in Newtown, Connecticut, Sandy Hook Promises mission is to prevent gun violence BEFORE it happens by teaching youth and adults how to recognize the signs, intervene and get help for individuals who may be at-risk of hurting themselves or others. Start with Hello teaches students, grades 2-12, the skills they need to reach out to and include those who may be dealing with chronic social isolation and create a culture of inclusion and connectedness within their school. Please join us this week as we work to help ALL students at BJHS feel connected by starting with hello and participating in our activities. Each day of the week starting Monday will be a theme.

Friday "Compliments Day"- compliment someone today! Let someone know how much you appreciate them, how amazing they are, or thank someone for all they do! Tell them or write a note!

During the week in the lunchroom students can take the pledge to include others and help stop violence before it takes place by writing your name on a hand and adding it to our tree.

MATH COUNTS COMPETITIVE TEAM
Students, do you love math? Do you like to problem solve? If so, come and join our Math Counts Competitive Team! We'll meet Wednesdays after school until 3:30pm in Mrs. Winter's room 201 starting next Wednesday, October 3rd. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Winter.

FUNDRAISER
Our fundraiser is coming to an end after this week. All order forms are due during homerooms on Monday, October 1st. Please be sure to have your order amounts tallied and if you have collected any money, that can be brought in as well.

Announcements- Thursday. September 27, 2018

Today is the 18th day of school. There are 163 days remaining.

SPORTS
The 7th grade white volleyball team added another win to their record last night by defeating Dexter 25-19, 25-17, 25-15. Sophia G. led the team with 9 aces. Eve F. & Jaelyn H. led the team with their outstanding passes. Ryan M. did a great job setting and added 4 ace points. The girls are heading into the SEC tournament in Saline this weekend. 

The 7th grade Red volleyball team traveled to Pickney and defeated them 25-13, 25-14 and 25-19. The great serving of Mya K. and Allison S. led the team to victory. Madi B. was was a star on defense and Kate W. was a hitting sensation! Great job Red team!! 

The Bedford 8th Grade volleyball team won yesterday on the road against Pinckney with the scores of 25-9, 25-14 and 25-11. Ella H. led the team in serving with 14 points. Offensively, Faith U. led the team with 6 kills. Our middles, McKenna D. and Ella H. also hit well with 4 kills each. Setting well for the Broncos was Megan W. (10 assists) and Rylee H. (6 assists). We are home on Monday, October 1st against Dexter.

Bedford White volleyball took down Dexter 25-2,25-12,and 25-7 at home last night. Leah B played a well rounded game with passing and hitting, while Ava G lead the team in assists and continued 10 points for the night.  It was a great over all team effort to get the victory.  The White team will head to Pinckney on Monday and be back home Wednesday, hope to see you there.

The junior high boys cross country team took 4th out of 15 teams at the Cardinal Stritch Invitational last Saturday. They were led by Leo. W., Jonny H. ,and Josh G. Others running well were Kyle R., Gabe B., Grant S, and Jow W. The boys also took 4th out of 10 teams in the SEC cross country jamboree on Tuesday up in Dexter. Jordan B., Aiden O., and Kyle R. ran great racesto help the team, along with Ethan T. who ran the best time of his life. Congrats on another great race. The team runs at the Marauder Invitational on Saturday at Lake Erie Metropark. Good luck guys! 

VOLLEY FOR THE CURE
The Volley for the Cure match is on Tuesday, October 2nd at 7:00 pm at the high school.  There will be a bake sale, basket raffles, silent auction, 50/50 raffle, t-shirts for sale and more. Hope to see you there! 

BIBLE FELLOWSHIP CLUB
Attention everyone!!! Bible Fellowship Club will be meeting today after school in room 23, until 3:30. Therefore, everyone must have a ride at 3:30. All are welcome and ecouraged to attend. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Brown in room 23.

SPORTS
The cross country girls team remains undefeated in the conference after winning at the SEC Jamboree last night.  Scoring for our team were Bekah A., who has placed first or second for Bedford at every race this season, Ava R., Sydney D., Katelyn D., Emma B., Zalyn S., and Sam S. On a slow and difficult course, three runners still managed to get personal records for the season: Gretchen H., Izzy L., and Savannah F.  Congratulations, team, on a persevering through a tough race. Go Broncos!

The 7th and 8th grade Red football teams played extremely well yesterday. They played together and ran the offense great. Our defenses played hard and hit even harder. Now, we are on to the next game and preparation starts today. Thank you boys for playing hard and together. 7th grade won against Chelsea 36-22.

SPORTS
The 7th grade White volleyball team defeated Tecumseh last night with scores of 25-11, 25-22, 15-8. Lillian J. led the team with 9 serving points making a huge comeback in the second set. Ryan M. led the team with her passing and hitting. Kendall B. also did a great job passing for the broncos. The white team will play at home on Wednesday vs Dexter. 

The seventh grade red volleyball team defeated Ypsilanti Lincoln last night scores 25-15, 25-6 and 15-6. The team was led by the sensational serving of Marina S. and Ruby M.. Kadie M. and Madilyn B. did an awesome job on offense. Keep up the good work girls!! 

The Bedford 8th Grade RED volleyball improves to 8-0 defeating Lincoln yesterday with the scores of 25-14, 25-8 and 15-8. Rylee H. led the team in serving with 15  points and London Z. served well with 6 points.  Offensively, Ella H. led the team with 3 kills. Defensively, Carmen Z. and Faith U. passed well.  The team travels tomorrow to take on Pinckney and then home again next Monday, October 1st against Dexter. Go Broncos!

EARLY DISMISSAL
A reminder to Cross Country Athletes and their teachers-there is an early release today (9/25) at 2pm to allow for travel time to their meet at Dexter. Go Broncos!
