STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Pridgeon chose Noelle A. as our Student of the Week.
Noelle is an outstanding student and great citizen. She is involved both in and out of school, including softball. Noelle is always willing to go the extra mile and never complains about the millions of homework problems in Algebra. Her smile is infectious and always brightens my afternoon!

ALL MULES MATTER
All Mules Matter Students raised $400 to donate to Autism Research and the Henry A. Quin Foundation will match our donation another $400, so that's a total of $800! Great Job students, thank you to everyone who helped out at the bake sale and float sale!

NJHS 2018-2019
Attention students, applications to apply for NJHS have been emailed.  Students that have a cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher were sent an application.  This is an application only, having a high GPA does not mean you automatically get into NJHS.  To join NJHS you must fill out the application showing examples of your character, leadership, and service as well as submit an essay.  Applications will be reviewed by a committee of teachers to determine your acceptance into NJHS.  If you feel you were missed for an application or if you have any questions, please see Mrs. Copley Sansom in room 134.

All test will be completed by 10:30 except science on 4/17.  This test will be during your students science class
MAKE SURE YOUR CHROMEBOOKS ARE CHARGED UP AND READY FOR YOUR TEST.  ALSO REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR EARBUDS AND SOMETHING TO READ (NO SCHOOL WORK) IN CASE YOU GET DONE.

Segement I of driver's education is beginning. 
Minimum age is 14 years, 8 months

Registration forms are also available in the office.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION
Ladies, get out your boots and western gear ready for the annual Mother-Daughter Boot Scootin' Boogie event on May 11, 7 - 9 pm at Bedford Junior High School. Bring your mom, aunts, grandmothers and girlfriends. Kick it up with Kim teaching new line dances as the DJ plays great dancing tunes. Games, barbeque and beverages will also be provided. Tickets are $12 and are on sale now through May 4 at the Community Education office.

HEALTH ROOM RULES
Unless it is an emergency, students who need to go to the health room must get a pass from the teacher they are coming from.  If you are coming between class, you should get the pass from your next hour teacher to let them know where you are. 

RECYCLING AT BJHS
Stop.... don't throw away your old , dried up markers! 
 We are excited to participate in collecting and converting our markers into clean energy. 
Teachers, this also includes dry erase markers. There is a container behind the door monitor, please put all old markers in this container! 
Together, we are helping our planet one handful of markers at a time!

Bus notes need to be brought  to the office in the morning to be stamped before school starts.  Absolutely no notes will be stamped after the afternoon announcements.  If the note is not stamped you will have to ride your normal bus home.

EXIT PASSES
Exit passes can be given if a written note from home is turned into the office.  All notes are to be brought to the office before school starts so your exit pass can be written.  Then you are to report to the door monitor at the time indicated on your pass. Once your ride arrives you can exit the build to go to your appointment.  You CAN NOT exit the building without a pass.  Make sure to turn your note into the main office before the morning bell so they can issue you a exit pass.

BACKPACKS
Just another reminder. . . Don't carry your backpacks to class. You must keep your backpacks in your locker.

If you are dropped off at school before 7 a.m, you need to stay in the cafeteria with Mrs. Gibson. She will release you to your lockers at 7.  

8th HOUR
8th Hour is held in the media center.  It runs from 2:35 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Meet in the front lobby by the door monitor and you will be walked to the media center   Forms can be picked up in the office.

NO CELL PHONES DURING SCHOOL HOURS
Students: Cell phones are not allowed during school hours. Your phone must be in your locker and turned off at 7:25 a.m. They cannot be used until 2:30 p.m. Cell phones are NOT permitted during lunches.

Mrs. Mahoney and Miss Kinzel select Conner W. Conner is a very polite, kind student. He has a friendly personality and treats everyone (teachers and classmates) with respect. Conner has a positive attitude in class and expresses his excitement in learning new things. He participates in class and helps others during group activities.

SOFTBALL
7th grade softball swatted Saline in last nights double header! Madison H. pitched the first, striking out 4. She was backed by a stellar defense and offense that was lead by Anika H. with a home run and Rylee H's triple. Winning 7-2. In the second Patrina M. threw the win with 2 strikeouts. Again backed by a tight defense and booming bats including home runs from Camryn P. and McKenna D. and a triple from Nadya V.. Winning 15-7

7th grade softball split with Lincoln last night. Madison H. pitched the first for a win, striking out 5. Camryn P. helped out driving in 3 with a triple to win 7-6. The second game was hard fought to fall just short 14-12. Great effort by all!

SOFTBALL
7TH GRADE
‘You’re 7th grade softball team took two wins from Monroe last night. Madison H. hurled the first win with an outstanding 14 strikeouts! She was backed up with run support, leading the way were Nadya V., McKenna D., with home runs and Anika H. with an out of the park home run!! Winning 6-5.
Patrina M. took the mound in the second with a fantastic outing striking out 11!! Alexia M, lead the way offensively with a home run!! Winning 13-5.

8TH GRADE
Bedford beat Monroe in game 1, 5-2 and mercied them in game 2, 10-0.

BOYS TRACK
The Bedford boys team last night beat to the Maples of Adrian, by a score of 85-51.
Highlights:   
  1. Micah S. 1st /Damien R. 3rd/ Ryan P. 4th nearly swept the 2 mile run
  2. Ethan L. and Braden G. swept pole vault - with Ethan setting a New BJHS Record of 11 ft 3 inches
  3. 4 x 100 team of Trevor H./Degan G./ Braden G., and Zach S. took 1st
  4. Collin B. and Parker M. finished 1st and 2nd in Long Jump
  5. Also Make sure to give David W. a high five today for competing in his first BJHS Track meet and winning both of his heats.
Come out and see the Broncos Swat Saline next monday at Bedford Community Stadium.

GIRLS TRACK
The girl’s track team won last night against Adrian 104 to 32.
  • Ava R., Sydney D., and Grace F. swept the 3200 meter run. 
  • Bella P. took first and Madi H. took third in the 55 meter hurdles. 
  • Bella also took first in the 200 meter Hurdles and second in the 100 meter run. 
  • Veda L. placed first and Ryan L. placed second in shot put. 
  • Maddy F., Bekah A., Madi H., and Ally B. placed first in the 3200 meter relay. 
  • Ally B. placed first and Bekah A. placed second in the 800 meter run. 
  • Maddy F. placed first, Hannah R. placed second and Kaitlyn D. placed third in the 1600 meter run. 
  • Anna S., Natalie M., Emma B., and Miranda C. took second in the 1600 meter relay. 
  • Bryn F., Jillian M., Veronica S., and Kendall K. took first in the 800 meter relay.

Exit passes can be given if a written note from home is turned into the office.  All notes are to be brought to the office before school starts so your exit pass can be written.  Then you are to report to the door monitor at the time indicated on your pass. Once your ride arrives you can exit the build to go to your appointment.  You CAN NOT exit the building without a pass.  Make sure to turn your note into the main office before the morning bell so they can issue you a exit pass.

BACKPACKS
Just another reminder. . . Don't carry your backpacks to class. You must keep your backpacks in your locker. 

EARLY DROP OFFS
If you are dropped off at school before 7 a.m, you need to stay in the cafeteria with Mrs. Gibson. She will release you to your lockers at 7.  

8th HOUR
8th Hour is held in the media center.  It runs from 2:35 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Meet in the front lobby by the door monitor and you will be walked to the media center   Forms can be picked up in the office.

NO CELL PHONES DURING SCHOOL HOURS
Students: Cell phones are not allowed during school hours. Your phone must be in your locker and turned off at 7:25 a.m. They cannot be used until 2:30 p.m. Cell phones are NOT permitted during lunches. 


HEALTH ROOM RULES
Students who need to go to the health room must get a pass from the teacher they are coming from. If you are coming between class, you should get the pass from your next hour teacher to let them know where you are. Unless it is an emergency.
