STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Matlow chose Katelyn W. as our student of the week.  Katelyn is a very positive student who puts forth her best effort in class.  She is kind to her classmates and always shares a smile in class.

SWIM AND DIVE
Congrats to the Swim and Dive team for another dominating performance yesterday against Adrian Middle School. Bedford won the meet 171 to 29.

Beka A and Gabby Pwent 1-2 in the 100 IM
Lindy S and Kaylee S went 1-2 in the 100 Freestyle and had great times. 
Micah S posted a personal best winning the 50 Free.
Kyle R qualified for the State meet in the 100 Backstroke.
Jacob W and Gracie A had  amazing 50 frees and Murphy B and Drew B came through in the 50 fly. 


Great job team!

BASKETBALL
7TH GRADE WHITE
The boys 7th grade white team defeated Chelsea last night 25 - 22 to complete a fantastic season with 8 wins.  Cayden K had a steal with the Broncos down by 1 that led to Andrew H making two free throws to take back the lead.  Trey B then made two free throws to seal the victory.
Andrew H led the team with a double-double of 16 points and 18 rebounds.
Cayden K had the hot hand making 3 3's and finishing with 13 points
Trey B and Tryston H finished with 6 points.
Nate D, Camden C, Caleb K, and Griffin W all chipped in with 2 points.
Simon E, Leo W, Jimmy F, and Josh G all played great team basketball in the victory. Happy Holidays!!

7TH GRADE RED
Bedford red 7th grade defeated Adrian Blue 33-22.  Shea R led all scorers with a season high 14 points followed by James J with 10 and Jack N with 9.  

8TH GRADE WHITE
8th Grade White ended the season with a strong 34-9 victory over Chelsea.  

Leading the way in scoring was Ethan B, Hayden F, Chace C and Micah S.  Driving up the score and pitching in with multiple buckets were  Chase H, Lawson E, Dillon D, Brady P and Daniel S.  


Dillon D and Daniel S GOT BIG on defense for the Broncos. 

8th Grade  White ended the season with a record of 9 wins and 2 losses.

GREAT JOB by the entire team!!!

8TH GRADE RED

Bedford 8th grade red defeated Adrian Blue 36-13 to end the season 7-4.  Preston M and Brendan H led the scoring.  Ethan G and Braden G also played well.

Pride club will not be meeting on Thursday.

Art club will not meet this Thursday December 21st.  We will meet again after Christmas break.

All mules matter meets every Monday during your homeroom time in the media center with Mrs. Mihalec. 

BUS NOTES
Bus notes need to be brought  to the office in the morning to be stamped before school starts.  Absolutely no notes will be stamped after the afternoon announcements.  If the note is not stamped you will have to ride your normal bus home.

EXIT PASSES
Exit passes can be given if a written note from home is turned into the office.  All notes are to be brought to the office before school starts so your exit pass can be written.  Then you are to report to the door monitor at the time indicated on your pass. Once your ride arrives you can exit the build to go to your appointment.  You CAN NOT exit the building without a pass.  Make sure to turn your note into the main office before the morning bell so they can issue you a exit pass.

DRESS CODE
Students, while the temps stay warm, be sure to dress for the weather and for our dress code here at the school. While we certainly need to stay cool, we also need to keep our shorts and shirts within the ranges set forth in the dress code. 

BACKPACKS
Just another reminder. . . Don't carry your backpacks to class. You must keep your backpacks in your locker. 

EARLY DROP OFFS
If you are dropped off at school before 7 a.m, you need to stay in the cafeteria with Mrs. Gibson. She will release you to your lockers at 7.  

8th HOUR
8th Hour is held in the media center.  It runs from 2:35 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Meet in the front lobby by the door monitor and you will be walked to the media center   Forms can be picked up in the office.


NO CELL PHONES DURING SCHOOL HOURS
Students: Cell phones are not allowed during school hours. Your phone should be in your locker and turned off at 7:25 a.m. They cannot be used until 2:30 p.m. Cell phones are NOT permitted during lunches. 

HEALTH ROOM RULES
Students who need to go to the health room must get a pass from the teacher they are coming from AND they should also check in with their next hour teacher to let them know where they are.

LOCKER CLEAN OUT
Will will be having locker clean out on Wednesday during homeroom.

8TH GRADE FUNDRAISER
The 8th grade will be having a fundraiser on Tuesday, December 19th at Mancino's:  7200 Lewis Ave # B1 in Temperance. Mancino's has generously offered to donate 10% of all sales throughout the day: 11 am - 9 pm. You do not need a flyer to participate. Just tell them you are with the BJHS Washington DC trip when ordering. Please pass this info along to all of your family and friends and share on social media.

COUNTY QUIZ BOWL
Congratulations to the 7th and 8th grade teams for winning Monroe County Quiz Bowl Title

SWIMMING
Congratulations to the Swim and Dive team on last nights win against Monroe.

Individual first place finishers were 
Hannah S in the 200 Free
Ethan T in the 100 IM and 100 Freestyle
Gabby P in the 50 Free
Lindy S in the 100 Backstroke
Jacob K  in the100 Breaststroke 
And... Austin C in diving with his all time Personal Best score! 

Honorable mention goes to Madison W for two great races with personal bests. 

The Broncos will face Adrian Middle School at HOME on Wednesday at the YMCA at 4:15. Student entry will be free. Come cheer on BJHS and experience a competitive swim and dive team in action. 

BOYS BASKETBALL
7TH WHITE
The boys 7th grade white team defeated Adrian last night 33 - 17, sweeping the Maples on the season.  Andrew H led all scorers with 22 points as the Broncos played a suffocating defense to start the second half.  Trey B poured in 10 points; Leo W and Simon E each scored 6 points; Griffin W and Caleb K scored 4 points; and Cayden K, Camden C and Josh G each chipped in with 2 points.
The white teams will conclude their season tomorrow against Chelsea at home with the 7th grade game beginning at 4:15.

7TH RED
Bedford red 7th grade lost a hard fought battle on the hardwood to Chelsea Gold 35-32. Evan C led eight different scorers with 16 points.  James J scored 7 points.  The broncos finish the season on the road against Adrian on Wednesday.  

8TH WHITE
Put another W in the book!  8th grade Bedford White notched a 42-28 victory over Adrian.  Chace C put the hammer down to lead the Broncos scoring effort. Offensive support was made by Daniel S, Sam T, Micah S, Hayden F, Collin B, Cameron S, Dillon D, Ethan B and Brady P.  Powering the defense were Ethan B and Micah S.   Skill and great team work was displayed with an impressive and strategic passing game.  Great victory by all!
On Wednesday  the Broncos will host  Chelsea for their final game of the season.  7th Grade White will play at 4:30 and 8th grade White will follow at 5:30.  Be there to get loud in the crowd and cheer the Bronco's to a victory!

8TH RED
Bedford 8th grade red took down the Bulldogs of Chelsea Gold 31-18.  Bedford had 11 of 12 players score in the game led by Preston M and Braden G.  Parker M and Adan R also played well.

ROBOTICS
Congratulations to Team FLAG, the Bionic Broncos and the Classical Engineers for a great job at States the Bionic Broncos made it to semi-finals of their Division and the Classical Engineers made it to finals.  The Classical Engineers were awarded the division finalist trophy and the Rockwell Collins Innovate Trophy. Additionally, the Classical Engineers  were one of 19 teams that qualified  for  the North Super Regionals to represent Michigan.   BJHS has qualified a team for Super Regionals every year since the multi-state event started

STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Vogel chose Christian C. as our student of the week.  Christian is a very kind hearted sixth grader who is a divergent thinker and challenges his teammates and teachers to view concepts and ideas from unique perspectives. His genuine acts of gratitude and compassion are very much appreciated in class. 

ROBOTICS
Good luck to the Bionic Broncos, the Classical Engineers, and Team F.L.A.G. (Fight Like A Girl) robotics teams as they head to the Michigan State FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics State Championship today.   They will begin competing this morning.  100 teams from across the state will be meeting up in Battle Creek to compete.  All 3 of our teams will be in the Franklin Division.  Good luck to all of these young engineers.
