STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Ms. Miller chose Bella F as our Student of the Week Bella is an outstanding student with a beautiful smile she shares with everyone. She participates in class, helps others, and comes to class with a great attitude every day. She puts forth the effort to service others in the community and her kind heart is contagious. She is an excellent young lady

DRESS CODE
Now that we are experiencing some warmer temps, it is that time of year to review the dress code in the handbook! Please read it in its entirety but our re-occurring oversights are as follows: Shorts need to be past the palm of your hand and touching your fingers. No sheer insets or holes that show skin in tops or bottoms. Tank tops/shirts need to be modest and long enough to cover bellies and backs. Thank you for your attention to this!

BJHS BOYS TRACK ANNOUNCEMENT - PRESEASON SIGN UP
BJHS Boys Track Season will begin on Monday, March 19.  Practice will be held from 2:45 until 4:15 p.m.  All interested boys in grades 6-8 please sign up outside of Mr. Muck's (Room 207) and Mrs. Vogel's (Room.206).

JHS GIRLS TRACK ANNOUNCEMENT - PRESEASON SIGN UP
Attention all girls in 6th -8th grade interested in running track this spring.  Practice will begin on Monday, March 19, 2018.  Those interested in joining can sign up outside Mr. Davis's room # 217.  Everyone must have a sports physical completed before practice begins.  Physical forms can be found online or in the front office.  For those middle distance and distance runner who would like to start conditioning before the season begins,a group will be meeting after school on Mondays and Tuesdays for some light  training .  Conditioning will begin tomorrow, Tuesday, February 27, 2018, and will meet in the cafeteria after school at 2:45 p.m. and go until about 4:35 p.m.

RECYCLING AT BJHS
Stop.... don't throw away your old , dried up markers! 
 We are excited to participate in collecting and converting our markers into clean energy. 
Teachers, this also includes dry erase markers. There is a container behind the door monitor, please put all old markers in this container! 
Together, we are helping our planet one handful of markers at a time!

All mules matter meets every Monday during homeroom time in the media center with Mrs. Mihalec.

JUGGLING CLUB
Juggling club will not be meeting until further notice.

CHARITY CLUB 
Charity club will not be meeting in February.

BUS NOTES
Bus notes need to be brought  to the office in the morning to be stamped before school starts.  Absolutely no notes will be stamped after the afternoon announcements.  If the note is not stamped you will have to ride your normal bus home.

EXIT PASSES
Exit passes can be given if a written note from home is turned into the office.  All notes are to be brought to the office before school starts so your exit pass can be written.  Then you are to report to the door monitor at the time indicated on your pass. Once your ride arrives you can exit the build to go to your appointment.  You CAN NOT exit the building without a pass.  Make sure to turn your note into the main office before the morning bell so they can issue you a exit pass.

BACKPACKS
Just another reminder. . . Don't carry your backpacks to class. You must keep your backpacks in your locker. 

EARLY DROP OFFS
If you are dropped off at school before 7 a.m, you need to stay in the cafeteria with Mrs. Gibson. She will release you to your lockers at 7.  

8th HOUR
8th Hour is held in the media center.  It runs from 2:35 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Meet in the front lobby by the door monitor and you will be walked to the media center   Forms can be picked up in the office.

NO CELL PHONES DURING SCHOOL HOURS
Students: Cell phones are not allowed during school hours. Your phone must be in your locker and turned off at 7:25 a.m. They cannot be used until 2:30 p.m. Cell phones are NOT permitted during lunches. 

HEALTH ROOM RULES
Students who need to go to the health room must get a pass from the teacher they are coming from AND they should also check in with their next hour teacher to let them know where they are.

MATH LEAGUE TEST
All students who are taking the Math League Test on Tuesday (TODAY) must bring their own calculator to use and several pencils.  You will NOT be able to use your Chromebook calculator.  If you want a calculator to use, you will have  to bring one from home.  The test will be given in the cafeteria during 2nd hour for 7th and 8th grade, and during 3rd hour for 6th grade.  A list of students attending was sent to teachers.  Please.go to your class first.  After attendance has been taken, proceed to the cafeteria.  If you have any questions, you may see Mrs. Brown in room  # 23.
Remember, you MUST bring a calculator and several pencils with you to the test.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Bedford 7th grade red was defeated by Dexter 22-16.  Elyse C. and Peyton P. led in scoring with 11 and 9 points respectively.  

Bedford red 8th grade lost a close one to Dexter 19-16.  Brooke W. and Jaime S. had 4 points each.  Red fell to 6-3 on the season.  

Bedford 7th grade white lost a hard fought battle to Tecumseh 35-22.  Ava G. led in scoring with 11 points and Paige B. added 10.  Emma J. led in rebounds and Maddie H. played great defense.  

Bedford white 8th grade played their best game of the season, beating Tecumseh 24-6. Sophia G. and Sydney S. led in scoring.  Raylynn N. and Monica D. also played well.

MATH LEAGUE TEST
All students who are taking the Math League Test on Tuesday (TOMORROW) must bring their own calculator to use and several pencils.  You will NOT be able to use your Chromebook calculator.  If you want a calculator to use, you will have  to bring one from home.  The test will be given in the cafeteria during 2nd hour for 7th and 8th grade, and during 3rd hour for 6th grade.  A list of students attending was sent to teachers.  Please.go to your class first.  After attendance has been taken, proceed to the cafeteria.  If you have any questions, you may see Mrs. Brown in room  # 23.

STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Mr. Stalker chose Logan C. as our Student of the Week.
Logan is an excellent student and he is a pleasure to have in class. He has a fun sense of humor and he works very hard on his studies. Logan comes to class every day with a positive attitude and he is always willing to help out his classmates. Logan is a great example of someone who has a growth mindset because he sees every challenge in life as an opportunity to grow.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Bedford red 7th grade lost to Pinckney.

Nine different players scored as Bedford Red 8th grade defeated Pinckney 21-15.  Grace R. led with 12 and Brianna C. had 8.  Noelle A. did a nice job running the offense in the first half.  

Bedford 7th grade white avenged a loss from earlier in the season beating the Grizzlies of Ypsilanti 24-9.  Paige B. led the way with 10 points.  Trinity L. chipped in a season high 7 points.  Sophie W. also played well.  

Bedford white 8th grade played great defense on their way to defeating Ypsilanti 31-10.  Sophia G. and Kinzie K. led the way in scoring.  Kerstin N. and Sydney S. also played well.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Bedford 7th grade red beat Monroe Red 33-2. Peyton P. led in scoring with 19 points and was 100% from the free throw line making 7 of 7.  Ava R. played outstanding defense and McKenna D. dominated the boards with 10 rebounds.  

Bedford 8th grade red used a stifling defense to defeat Monroe Red 30-4.  Michaela U. and Jamie S. did a good job on the boards to hold them to 1 shot.  Bedford improved to 5-2.  

Bedford used a balanced scoring attack with 9 players scoring enroute to a victory over Monroe White 21-9.  Sophia G. and Sydney S. led the way in scoring.  Anna S. played great defense and Joelle D. had a great floor game.
