8th Grade Red Basketball Team
Bedford red 8th grade finished the season on a positive note defeating Chelsea Blue 44-36.  Spencer Straka and Garrett Sexton led the scoring.  Tyler Welch and Bobby Slusher led the rebounding.  Austin Malabanan and Kyle Hennessey also played well for the 8-4 broncos.

8th Grade White Basketball Team
8th grade white lost last night in a heart breaker 24 -22 in Overtime.  Dominic Pezzino stole the show last night  with 9 points to lead the Broncos.  Also playing well was Alec Miller, Coby McMannaman, Tyler German, Griffin Geiger, Austin Hammer and Nate Kujawa.   Thanks for a great season Bronco's and Merry Christmas!

7th Grade Red Basketball Team
Bedford red 7th grade closed out a fine season with a win over Chelsea Blue 36-15.  Bedford red finished 8-4 on the season.  Zach Stevenson and Noah Anderson played well in the finale.

7th Grade White Basketball Team
The 7th grade boys white team concluded their season losing by 5 to Chelsea, 30 - 25.  Wes Matthews was raining 3's to keep the Broncos close scoring a career high 22 points with 4  3-pointers.  Matt Kohler added 6 points and Gabe Kujda chipped in with 5.  Josh Hollinger, Matthew Kochendoerfer, Luke Warnke, Luke Tanner, and Landon Links each scored 2 points.  The white team finished 4 - 8 on the season.  Thank you for all of your hard work during the season.

Girls Basketball
There will be another open gym for ANY girls interested in playing basketball THIS SUNDAY, December 21st from 5:00 -7:00 PM in our gym. 

Basketball tryouts for 7th and 8th grade girls will start Monday, January 5th
7th Grade: 2:30 - 4:30
8th Grade: 4:30 - 6:30

Bus Depot
Recently we are having two issues in the Bus Depot with our Junior High Students.  Please remember to get on your buses as soon as possible.  Buses need to be on time for their elementary routes.  Too many students are "hanging out" in the center of the bus depot.  Also Junior High Students need to refrain from demonstrating public displays of affection in the depot (kissing).

6th and 7th grade students - We have received notice that Chromebooks have been seen unattended during after school sporting practices/events. Please remember that you can return to your locker after practice to retrieve your Chromebook. Chromebooks should never be left unattended, in the gymnasium, or under a tree. It is important to remember that each student with a Chromebook signed an agreement at the beginning of the school year that states...
I will be responsible for my Chromebook at all times.

I will store my Chromebook in my secured locker at BJHS while at sports practices or after school activities

8th Grade Red Basketball Team
Bedford red 8th grade came up short in a hard fought battle losing to Saline Gold 31-27.  Bobby Slusher and Garrett Sexton led the scoring.  Cody Norton, Matt Brubaker and Reid Kohler also played well.  

8th Grade White Basketball Team
The 8th grade white team got back on the winning trail last night as they defeated Dexter 24 -20 extending their record to 6-5.  Alex Jones and Brad South played strong games scoring 6 and 7 points respectively.  Jackie Harris led all scorers with 20. 

7th Grade Red Basketball Team
Bedford red 7th grade lost an epic battle on the hardwood last night as Saline Gold outlasted them 36-28.  Mitchell Dunson and Cole Mason played great defense holding their leading scorer to five points.  Derek Price and Ryan Sullivan led the offense with 16 and 12 points respectively.

7th Grade White Basketball Team
The boys 7th grade white team lost in overtime to Dexter yesterday 21 - 19.  Wes Matthews led the scoring with 11 points followed by Matt Kohler with 10.  Alex Newcombe scored 6 points; Zack Warnke and Logan Swain both scored 4 points and Drew Ditto, Josh Hollinger,  Matthew Kochendoerfer, and Luke Tanner all scored 2 points.
The white teams will conclude their season today with a game at Chelsea.

The BJHS School Publication department is offering an "early bird" special for $43.00 only at the junior high school through Winter Break. In order to receive the special price, the books must be ordered in the cafeteria during lunches.  All sales after that will be $45.00 and sale of the yearbook ends on Valentines.

If you are interested in taking this year's Math League Competitive Math Test, please sign up with your math teacher by today December 17th.  You need to have an A or a B in math to be eligible to take the test.  There are online practice tests you may use to get ready for the actual test.  If you have any questions please ask your math teacher or see Mrs. Brown in room 230.

8th Grade Red Boys Basketball Team
After a sluggish start Bedford red 8th grade recovered to down Lincoln Gray 29-28.  Spencer Straka and Garrett Sexton led the scoring.  Tyler Welch and Spencer Straka led the rebounding.  Austin Malabanan and Cameron Hammer also played well. 

8th Grade White Boys Basketball Team
8th grade white lost to Ypsi Lincoln last night 40 to 25.  Jackie Harris paced the Bronco's with 21 points

7th Grade Red Boys Basketball Team
Bedford red 7th grade fell to Lincoln Gray 27-19.  Sam Birmingham, Ryan Sullivan and Derek Price all played well.  

7th Grade White Boys Basketball Team
The 7th grade boys white team lost to Lincoln yesterday 41 - 16.  Wes Matthews led the scoring with 13 points and Matt Kohler led the team in assists and also chipped in with 10 points.  Landon Links and Luke Warnke each had 4 points; Zack Warnke scored 3 points and Luke Tanner and Alex Newcombe had 2 points.
The white teams will travel to Dexter on Wednesday.

Holiday Food Drive
Thank you for making this year a huge success!!! We totaled 4011 items. All 35 families received six or seven boxes. I received all the first hour results from all the teachers and the winner of this years "Breakfast by Student Council" is Mrs. Spurlin her first hour class brought in 360 items. One student in first hour brought in 140 items. Student Council brought in 677 items total.

Robotics
Congratulations to the Loose Screws for finishing qualifications in first place!  They invited the Classical Engineers to join them in an alliance for play-offs and together won the robotics tournament.  The Classical Engineers also won the Inspire Award which is the highest award for Best Overall Team.  Both teams earned advancements to states. Way to go Broncos!!

Girls Basketball
There is an open gym for girls basketball this Sunday December 14th from 
5:00 - 7:00 pm.

Robotics
Good luck to all of our robotics team this weekend.  The Bionic Broncos, Classical Engineers, Turning Gears, Loose Screws, Basement Dwellers and Circuit Breakers will all be competing right here on Saturday.  The robotics tournament is free, and these teams would love for you to stop by the gym on Saturday and cheer them on.  The matches will be held from 11:00 - 6:00.  Come see what robotics is all about!  Good Luck Bedford teams!

Perfect Christmas Gift
It’s the perfect Christmas gift!  Buy a penny hockey board starting December 1st. They are only $2.00 at the concession stand during all lunch hours. These games were made by the 8th grade technology education classes. They are loads of fun, and you don’t even have to go to the store.  Buy them while supplies last. 
Wrestling
Any boys interested in wrestling, practice will begin Monday December 8th.  In the meantime you may attend Open Mat which is held Mondays and Wednesdays 6-8 pm in the Junior High Wrestling room.

Grapplerette
Any girls interested in working with the wrestling program as a grapplerette should attend a meeting Tuesday December 16, 2014 after school. The meeting will run from 2:45 until 4:00. Please meet Coach Andrews by the cafeteria.

Holiday Food Drive
Our annual Student Council Holiday Food Drive is off to a great start.  Thank you to all that donated so far.  If everyone brought in at least 2 items we could meet our goal of 3,000 items by December 12, 2014.
Great Items to donate:
Canned tuna, chicken, salmon, chili, stew, soups, fruit or vegetables
Boxed macaroni & cheese, rice or pasta
Peanut butter & Jelly
Pasta sauce and paper products
Please donate to help those less fortunate! Thank you!

All 7th and 8th grade student council members please check in with Mr Lopinski during your homeroom everyday during the food drive.

Yearbook
Year books are on sale now for $45.00.
The online price is $45.00 plus $2.00 service fee. 


The BJHS School Publication department is offering an "early bird" special for $43.00 only at the junior high school through Winter Break. In order to receive the special price, the books must be ordered in the cafeteria during lunches.  All sales after that will be $45.00 and sale of the yearbook ends on Valentines.

Bus Depot
Recently we are having two issues in the Bus Depot with our Junior High Students.  Please remember to get on your buses as soon as possible.  Buses need to be on time for their elementary routes.  Too many students are "hanging out" in the center of the bus depot.  Also Junior High Students need to refrain from demonstrating public displays of affection in the depot (kissing).

Chromebooks
6th and 7th grade students - We have received notice that Chromebooks have been seen unattended during after school sporting practices/events. Please remember that you can return to your locker after practice to retrieve your Chromebook. Chromebooks should never be left unattended, in the gymnasium, or under a tree. It is important to remember that each student with a Chromebook signed an agreement at the beginning of the school year that states...
I will be responsible for my Chromebook at all times.
My Chromebook will never be left unattended
I will store my Chromebook in my secured locker at BJHS while at sports practices or after school activities
