7th & 8th Grade Red Basketball Team

Bedford red 7th grade improved to 6-2 on the season by defeating Dexter Gold 33-2.  Zach Stevenson, Sam Birmingham and Kaleb Jennings all played well in the victory.  

Bedford red 8th grade ran its record to 6-2 on the season by outlasting Dexter Gold 24-11.  Tyler Welch, Spencer Straka and Garrett Sexton led the scoring.  Kyle Hennessey and Austin Malabanan led the rebounding.  Reid Kohler and Cody Norton also played well.  

7th Grade White Basketball Team
The Broncos took the sting out of the Hornets last night as the 7th grade white team defeated Saline 26 - 18.  Matt Kohler and Wes Matthews scored 10 points apiece to lead a balanced scoring attack.  Landon Links a.k.a NBA had a career high 10 points.  Alex Newcombe scored 5 points; Matt Kochendoerfer added 4; Zack Warnke 3 points and Drew Ditto, Luke Tanner, and Logan Swain all added 2 points in the victory.

The white teams will next play Monday at Monroe.

Girls Basketball
Attention any 7th and 8th grade girls wishing to tryout for basketball this year there will be an open gym this Sunday Dec 7th at the junior high from 5-7pm.  

Students Interact
Students who were invited to next week's session of Students Interact should remember to turn in their signed permission slip to Mrs. Connolly by the end of the day on Monday, December 8th.

Congratulations to the BJHS 8th Grade Quiz Bowl Team for bringing the Monroe County Qui Bowl Champions Trophy home!

Perfect Christmas Gift
It’s the perfect Christmas gift!  Buy a penny hockey board starting December 1st. They are only $2.00 at the concession stand during all lunch hours. These games were made by the 8th grade technology education classes. They are loads of fun, and you don’t even have to go to the store.  Buy them while supplies last. 
Wrestling
Any boys interested in wrestling, practice will begin Monday December 8th.  In the meantime you may attend Open Mat which is held Mondays and Wednesdays 6-8 pm in the Junior High Wrestling room.

Holiday Food Drive
Our annual Student Council Holiday Food Drive is off to a great start.  Thank you to all that donated so far.  If everyone brought in at least 2 items we could meet our goal of 3,000 items by December 12, 2014.
Great Items to donate:
Canned tuna, chicken, salmon, chili, stew, soups, fruit or vegetables
Boxed macaroni & cheese, rice or pasta
Peanut butter & Jelly
Pasta sauce and paper products
Please donate to help those less fortunate! Thank you!

All 7th and 8th grade student council members please check in with Mr Lopinski during your homeroom everyday during the food drive.

Reflections Arts Contest Call for Entries

The theme this year is: "The World Would Be a Better Place If..."

Students can offer their creative interpretations of this theme in any of the following categories:

Visual Arts
Photography
Literature
Film/Video Production
Dance Choreography 
or Music Composition

Students can submit multiple entries in multiple categories. Each complete entry gets their name in a drawing for a $25 Amazon Gift Certificate.

Deadline is today Friday, December 5th by noon. Turn entries in at the Media Center.

Yearbook
Year books are on sale now for $45.00.
The online price is $45.00 plus $2.00 service fee. 


The BJHS School Publication department is offering an "early bird" special for $43.00 only at the junior high school through Winter Break. In order to receive the special price, the books must be ordered in the cafeteria during lunches.  All sales after that will be $45.00 and sale of the yearbook ends on Valentines.

Bronco Charity Club
The Bronco Charity Club has placed a Christmas tree in the cafeteria. They are collecting warm things like hats, gloves, socks, etc..  These will be donated to families who can not buy their own. Also under the tree, there is a box where you can place a toy, which the charity club is giving to children with cancer at the University of Michigan Hospital.

They are also collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald Houses. SO PLEASE DONATE YOUR POP TABS!

Chromebooks
6th and 7th grade students - We have received notice that Chromebooks have been seen unattended during after school sporting practices/events. Please remember that you can return to your locker after practice to retrieve your Chromebook. Chromebooks should never be left unattended, in the gymnasium, or under a tree. It is important to remember that each student with a Chromebook signed an agreement at the beginning of the school year that states...
I will be responsible for my Chromebook at all times.
My Chromebook will never be left unattended
I will store my Chromebook in my secured locker at BJHS while at sports practices or after school activities

Bus Notes
Reminder to all students - Bus notes to ride another bus home after school MUST be stamped in the office BEFORE the end of sixth hour.
