CLUB SPORT PARTICIPANTS - YEARBOOK PICTURES 
If you played hockey or baseball last year or will be playing this year, please wear your jersey to school tomorrow so we can take a photograph of you for our "Out the Door/Clubber Sports" section the yearbook.  It doesn't matter which team you played for, we want to put YOU in Our yearbook.  Be ready to smile!

WRESTLING
The Bronco wrestlers finished the season in dominating fashion beating Monroe 60-6.  Kyle Stacy had an exciting 1-0 win.  Kurtis Ortman won 10-5 in overtime which was the match of the meet.  Great season Broncos!

The wrestling banquet will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in the BJHS Cafeteria from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

7TH AND 8TH GRADE GIRLS WHITE BASKETBALL TEAMS - GAMES CANCELLED

8TH GRADE GIRLS' RED BASKETBALL TEAM - YESTERDAY'S RESULTS
The Bedford Red 8th grade basketball team defeated Monroe Red 27-17.  Madisyn King led ten different scorers with 12 points, followed by Samantha Synowka with 9.

7/8TH GRADE GIRLS' AND BOYS' TRACK
The 7th and 8th grade boys and girls track and field begin on Monday, March 18, 2013.  You must have a completed physical on file to begin practice.  If this is your first sport for the school year, you need to pick up a physical form in the office or from Coach Bauer in the health room.  Your doctor must fill out the physical  form before the first day of practice.
Girls interested in track should sign up with Coach Bauer in the health room or Coach Davis in Room # 2.
Boys interested in being on the track  team should sign up with Coach Muck in room # 201.  
There are no tryouts for track.  
     
SOIREE JUNIOR SINGERS
Join the Soiree!  Become a Soiree Junior Singer!  This is your chance to share the spotlight and share the joy of performing at Bedford High School.  There will be TWO performances just for the Soiree Juniors and the Soiree Singers along with some special guest performances.  Students will also have an opportunity to perform as a soloist through special auditions called "Bedford Junior Idol".  Soiree Junior will perform live  on stage on March 22, and 23, at 8:00 p.m.  Students will receive a Soiree junior T-shirt to keep, two free tickets to the show, one free ticket to see Bedford Idol on March 18, a chance to win a pair of tickets to the upcoming shows at the Huntington Center, Fisher Theatre, etc., and have lots of fun with the members of the Soiree Singers and Mr. Smith.  More information and registration forms are available in the junior high office and on line www.bhstheatrearts.com/bhschoirs

RESULTS - MICHIGAN LEAGUE COMPETITIVE MATH CONTEST - CONGRATULATIONS
The results are in for the 2012/2013 Michigan League Competitive Math Contest.  Congratulations to all who took this very challenging test.  Your test will be given to your math teacher to return to you.  The top scorers were as follows:

7TH AND 8TH GRADE GIRLS' BASKETBALL

Dexter gold defeated the 7th grade Bedford red girls basketball team 19-6.  Kaitlyn Scurlock led with 5 rebounds.  Angel Simon had 3 steals and Ali Cousino led the scoring. 
  
The Bedford 8th grade red basketball team defeated Dexter Gold 11-9.  Kristin Hill, Samantha Synowka, and Isabella Prizing all had key baskets. 

The Bedford 7th grade white basketball team defeated Chelsea Blue 28-14.  Lynsey Spotts led in scoring with 15 points.  Olivia Cook and Kalliyan Lagger also led in scoring.  Paige Harper and Madalyn Birmingham led a great defensive effort. 
  
The Bedford 8th grade white basketball team avenged its only loss on the season by beating Chelsea Blue 17-13.  Brynn Duvall led the way with a double double.  Ashley Wagenhauser, Alexa Libstorff, Alexis Harpel, and Erika Wilt also played well.  


BJHS/BEDFORD LIBRARY - ART CONTEST - CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to 3 of our junior high art students.  Last night, at the Bedford Young Arts For Our Future Show, 7th grader Maison Hullibarger received the Best Student Award for the junior high.  Also, 6th grader Alexia Przyojski and 7th grader Mackenzie Kruszka were tied for the Most Popular Award.  Congratulations, again, to all of our BJHS art students who were chosen to be part of the show.  If you missed the show last night , it is not too late to see our artists work.  The show will be on display throughout the month of March at the Bedford Public Library.

7/8th GRADE GIRLS' RED BASKETBALL TEAM
Beaten 26-3 the first time they played, the Bedford 7th grade red team beat previously unbeaten Saline Gold 13-12.  Dropping two 3 pointers, Megan Tillman scored 7 points,  Kourageous Koryn King led the now 5-2 red team with 14 points.

The Bedford 8th grade red team avenged its only loss of the season defeating Saline Gold 18-8.  Jaycie Harris had 8 points and 10 rebounds to lead a great defensive effort.

7TH AND 8TH GRADE GIRLS' BASKETBALL
Good luck to the girls' 7 and 8th grade white basketball teams at their home games against Chelsea Blue beginning at 4:15 p.m.

Good luck  to the 7 and 8th grade girls red basketball teams.  They will travel to play Dexter Gold today.  The games begin at 4:15 p.m. and there is an early dismissal at 2:00 p.m. today to allow for travel time.

 BJHS/BEDFORD LIBRARY - ART CONTEST
The Monroe County Library System and the Bedford Branch Library are presenting their first “Young Arts for Our Future Show.” After deliberating over several pieces, the Art teachers have submitted 55 works of art created by junior high students. The Library system and the BJHS Art Department call upon you to support these artists by casting your vote for your favorite work of art.  The piece that earns the most votes will win the “Purchase Award” and will be placed in the permanent collection to hang in the Children’s department of the Bedford Branch Library. Voting began Tuesday, February, 19 and ends today, February 25 at 5:00 p.m.

Attention all students; BJHS 100 Mile Club started last week and goes through March 22, after school from 2:45 to 4:30 p.m.  The deadline to join is Friday, February 22.  The goal of the 100-Mile Club is to improve the fitness and well-being of all participants.  The challenge of completing 100 miles within a certain time limit, and in the winter months, is a tremendous accomplishment.  You will need to complete 5 miles a day.  If you complete the 100 miles, you will earn an official 100-Mile Club t-shirt. Dates are subject to change due to weather conditions!  Makeup days will be offered at the end in case of weather cancellations. STUDENTS - COMMUNITY ED CO-ED VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE
The Bedford Youth Coed Volleyball League is open to all boys and girls in grades 4-12 who would like to improve their volleyball skills.  The purpose pf the league is to teach volleyball skills, rules, and techniques as well as to have an opportunity to have fun playing games in an organized league.  The Cost is $74. Registration and information forms are available in the BJHS.  The deadline to register is Friday, February 22.

BJHS/BEDFORD LIBRARY - ART CONTEST
The Monroe County Library System and the Bedford Branch Library are presenting their first “Young Arts for Our Future Show.” After deliberating over several pieces, the Art teachers have submitted 55 works of art created by junior high students. The Library system and the BJHS Art Department call upon you to support these artists by casting your vote for your favorite work of art.  The piece that earns the most votes will win the “Purchase Award” and will be placed in the permanent collection to hang in the Children’s department of the Bedford Branch Library. Voting begins Tuesday, February, 19 and ends Monday, February 25 at 5pm.”

Attention all students; BJHS 100 Mile Club started last week and goes through March 22, after school from 2:45 to 4:30 p.m.  The deadline to join is Friday, February 22.  The goal of the 100-Mile Club is to improve the fitness and well-being of all participants.  The challenge of completing 100 miles within a certain time limit, and in the winter months, is a tremendous accomplishment.  You will need to complete 5 miles a day.  If you complete the 100 miles, you will earn an official 100-Mile Club t-shirt. Dates are subject to change due to weather conditions!  Makeup days will be offered at the end in case of weather cancellations. 7/8th GRADE WHITE BASKETBALL TEAMS
The Bedford 7th grade white basketball team lost to Dexter Maroon 20-17.  Olivia Cook led in scoring with 10 points and Lynsey Spotts led in steals.

The Bedford 8th grade white basketball team beat Dexter Maroon 21-9.  Alexa Libstorff and Ashley Wagenhauser led nine different scorers.  Diana Pudlicki  and Brynn Duvall led the rebounding.  Faith Jankowski also played well.

WRESTLING
The BJHS Wrestling Team meets Lincoln today at home beginning at 4:15 p.m.

STUDENTS - COMMUNITY ED CO-ED VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE
The Bedford Youth Coed Volleyball League is open to all boys and girls in grades 4-12 who would like to improve their volleyball skills.  The purpose pf the league is to teach volleyball skills, rules, and techniques as well as to have an opportunity to have fun playing games in an organized league.  The Cost is $74. Registration and information forms are available in the BJHS.  The deadline to register is Friday, February 22.

SOIREE JUNIOR SINGERS
Join the Soiree!  Become a Soiree Junior Singer!  This is your chance to share the spotlight and share the joy of performing at Bedford High School.  There will be TWO performances just for the Soiree Juniors and the Soiree Singers along with some special guest performances.  Students will also have an opportunity to perform as a soloist through special auditions called "Bedford Junior Idol".  Soiree Junior will perform live  on stage on March 22, and 23, at 8:00 p.m.  Students will receive a Soiree junior T-shirt to keep, two free tickets to the show, one free ticket to see Bedford Idol on March 18, a chance to win a pair of tickets to the upcoming shows at the Huntington Center, Fisher Theatre, etc., and have lots of fun with the members of the Soiree Singers and Mr. Smith.  More information and registration forms are available in the junior high office and on line www.bhstheatrearts.com/bhschoirs

ALL STUDENTS - VALENTINE PARTY - TONIGHT
Tonight is the Valentine Party from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.  Bring all of your BJHS friends.  Wrist Bands cost $5.  We will have a photo booth, "Just Dance" Competition, ping-pong competition, and dancing in the gym.  The first 50 students purchasing wristbands will receive a set of beads to wear.

BRING POP - FREE  ADMISSION TO THE VALENTINE DANCE
The first 30 kids to bring in a 12 pack of pop to Mr. Lopinski will get in to the dance FREE!

THE CUTEST PET VALENTINE
This week, the BJHS staff held a "Cutest Pet Valentine Contest".  Students and staff voted for their  favorites!  All money will be donated to the Humane Society.  The total collected was $196.50.  the winner was Mrs. Miller's dog, Lou.  Thank you to all who participated or donated.

7TH AND 8TH GRADE GIRLS' BASKETBALL

The Bedford 7th grade red basketball team beat Tecumseh 21-6.  Megan Tillman, Caitlin Stieber, and Koryn King all scored 8 points and Kaitlyn Scurlock had 7 rebounds. 
  
The Bedford 8th grade red basketball team defeated Tecumseh 19-5.  Madisyn King, Kaylee Witfoth, and Taylor Haberland led the scoring.  Callie Teague and Alexia Bond rebounded well. 

The Bedford 7th grade white basketball team is now 5-1 after defeating Saline Blue 19-11.  Olivia Cook led 8 players in scoring with 10 points and Caelan Warnecke contributed 4. 

The Bedford 8th grade white basketball team squeaked out a win last night at home against Saline Blue 11-10.  Alexa Libstorff led the scoring along with Erika Wilt.  Brynn Duvall, Ashley Manore, Ashley Wagenhauser, and Alexis Harpel also played well.

THE CUTEST PET VALENTINE
This week, please notice the photos of the pets on the cafeteria bulletin boards. The staff is having a "Cutest Pet Valentine Contest".  Please bring spare change to the front table to vote for your favorites!  The staff member that wins will be announced today, Valentine's Day.  All monies will be donated to a local animal shelter.

7TH AND 8TH GRADE GIRLS' BASKETBALL
The Bedford 7th grade red basketball team beat Ypsilanti last night 20-5.  Caitlin Stieber scored 10 points.  Koryn King added 9.  Ali Cousino had 6 steals and Abby Monroe had 6 rebounds

The Bedford 8th grade red basketball team defeated Ypsilanti 28-14.  Saige Phillips, Jaycie Harris, and Kristin Hill led eight different scorers.

The 7 and 8th grade girls' white basketball teams will host Saline Blue today in the BJHS Gym beginning at 4:15 p.m.  Come to the games and cheer for the  Broncos!

The 7 and 8th grade girls' red basketball teams will travel to play Tecumseh today.  Games begin at 4:15 p.m,. and there is NOT an early dismissal.

ALL STUDENTS 100 MILE CLUB - IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN!
Attention all students; BJHS 100 Mile Club started this week and goes through March 22, after school from 2:45 to 4:30 p.m.  The goal of the 100-Mile Club is to improve the fitness and well-being of all participants.  The challenge of completing 100 miles within a certain time limit, and in the winter months, is a tremendous accomplishment.  You will need to complete 5 miles a day.  If you complete the 100 miles, you will earn an official 100-Mile Club t-shirt. Dates are subject to change due to weather conditions!  Makeup days will be offered at the end in case of weather cancellations. The Yearbook staff is also accepting poetry, short stories, vignettes, and other vehicles of expression for our annual Literary Magazine.  Please submit your entries in the box located in the office.

ALL STUDENTS - VALENTINE FLOWER SALE
Flowers will be sold during all lunch hours for Valentine's Day.  Buy someone a flower.  The cost is only $1.

ALL STUDENTS - VALENTINE PARTY
This Friday is the Valentine Party from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.  Bring all of your BJHS friends.  Wrist Bands cost $5.  We will have a photo booth, "Just Dance" Competition, ping-pong competition, and dancing in the gym.  The first 50 students purchasing wristbands will receive a set of beads to wear.

BRING POP - FREE  ADMISSION TO THE VALENTINE DANCE
The first 30 kids to bring in a 12 pack of pop to Mr. Lopinski will get in to the dance FREE!

THE CUTEST PET VALENTINE
This week, please notice the photos of the pets on the cafeteria bulletin boards. The staff is having a "Cutest Pet Valentine Contest".  Please bring spare change to the front table to vote for your favorites!  The staff member that wins will be announced on Thursday, Valentine's Day.  All monies will be donated to a local animal shelter.

WRESTLING
The Bronco wrestlers remain unbeaten in the SEC defeating Dexter yesterday 53-17.  Jeff Brushaber, Youssef Moosa, and Markus Sandoval had exciting wins.  Alex Saul won a close match 5-4, while Alex Ortman recorded a pin against an opponent whom he had lost to earlier this season.  Great job everyone!

The Broncos' last home match will be Wednesday next week.  Come and cheer on the wrestlers towards their quest to win the league.

7TH AND 8TH GRADE GIRLS' RED BASKETBALL TEAM
The 7 and 8th grade girls' red basketball teams will travel to play Ypsilanti today.  Games begin at 4:15 p.m,. and there is NOT an early dismissal.

STUDENTS - COMMUNITY ED CO-ED VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE
The Bedford Youth Coed Volleyball League is open to all boys and girls in grades 4-12 who would like to improve their volleyball skills.  The purpose pf the league is to teach volleyball skills, rules, and techniques as well as to have an opportunity to have fun playing games in an organized league.  The Cost is $74. Registration and information forms are available in the BJHS.  The deadline to register is Friday, February 22.

SOIREE JUNIOR SINGERS
Join the Soiree!  Become a Soiree Junior Singer!  This is your chance to share the spotlight and share the joy of performing at Bedford High School.  There will be TWO performances just for the Soiree Juniors and the Soiree Singers along with some special guest performances.  Students will also have an opportunity to perform as a soloist through special auditions called "Bedford Junior Idol".  Soiree Junior will perform live  on stage on March 22, and 23, at 8:00 p.m.  Students will receive a Soiree junior T-shirt to keep, two free tickets to the show, one free ticket to see Bedford Idol on March 18, a chance to win a pair of tickets to the upcoming shows at the Huntington Center, Fisher Theatre, etc., and have lots of fun with the members of the Soiree Singers and Mr. Smith.  More information and registration forms are available in the junior high office and on line www.bhstheatrearts.com/bhschoirs

7 AND 8TH GRADE GIRLS' BASKETBALL

The Bedford 7th grade white team won its 4th game of the season defeating Monroe Red 18-7.  Lynsey Spotts led 7 scorers with 17 points.  Amber Kelly, Kalliyan Lagger, and Maddie Birmingham scored their 1st points of the season and Kaitlin Kochendoerfer and Paige Harper played outstanding defense. 
  
The Bedford 8th grade white team upped its record to 4-1 by beating Monroe Red 24-5.  Alexa Libstorff led the scoring and Brynn Duvall led in rebounding.  Cassidy Killinen, Ashley Manore, Teagan Bussell and Alexis Harpel played great defense. 

LACROSSE SIGN UP - TODAY

This is a reminder that there are Lacrosse sign ups today, February 12, 2013, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Lambertville United Methodist Church on the corner of Douglas and Dean Roads.

7 AND 8TH GRADE GIRLS' BASKETBALL
The 7 and 8th grade girls' red basketball games have been cancelled today due to Ypsilanti school closing.  There will be practice after school beginning at 2:30 p.m.

The 7 and 8th grade white basketball teams will travel to play Monroe Red.  There is not an early dismissal.

LAST WEEK'S BASKETBALL SCORES
The Bedford 7th grade red basketball team defeated Monroe White 17-4.  Anna Venis and Ali Cousino led a strong defensive effort and Koryn King led 9 other scorers with 6 points.

The Bedford 8th grade red  basketball team improved to 4-1 beating Monroe White 26-8. Alexia Bond had 9 points followed by Kaylee Witfoth and Madisoyn King with 8 points each.

The Bedford 7th grade white basketball team defeated Adrian 25-2.  Great effort by the entire team to get the win.  Lynsey Spotts led the scoring along with Olivia Cook.  Hannah Wilke, Caelan Warnecke, Nicole Lezon, and Hailey Sieg also played well.

The Bedford 8th grade white basketball team defeated Adrian 25-3.  Great defensive effort by the entire team.  Brynn Duvall led the scoring along with Kourtney Kraftchick.  Alexa Libstorff, Erika Wilt, and Cassidy Heer led the rebounding.
