STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Sullivan chose Gabby P as our Student of the Week. Gabby is in my Social Studies class and is always prepared for class, participates in discussion and has a great attitude every day. She always greets me with a hello and smile every time I see her. Gabby is willing to help teachers and students. Gabby helps makes BJHS a great school!

SPORTS LOCKERS
All fall sports lockers must be cleared out by Friday October 27, 2017.  Locks will be cut off and items will be put in lost in found after that date.

VOLLEYBALL
7TH GRADE WHITE
The 7th Grade White Volleyball Team wrapped up their perfect 17-0 season last night by beating the Monroe Red team 25-17, 23-25, 25-11. Taylor D, Hannah F, Alaina A and Carmen Z did a great job setting all year for the broncos. Hannah K, Marina S and Jaiden J did an excellent job serving for our team. Kaycee D, London Z and Alyssa D did a great job hitting. And Payten S and Emma G did an outstanding job passing for the lady broncos. We had a great undefeated season and were co-champs of the SEC tournament. Great job ladies!

7TH GRADE RED
The 7th grade RED volleyball completed their undefeated season yesterday by defeating Dexter all three games! Congratulations to Ava G, Grace F, Abby D, Megan W, Rylee H, Ella H, Reagan H, Chloe E, Anika H, Faith U, Leah B and McKenna D on a terrific season! 

8TH GRADE WHITE
The 8th grade White Volleyball finished the season with a record of 18-0 after beating Monroe 25-14,25-14 and 23-25.  Our record is a reflection of all the hard work the girls put in throughout the season.  They played as a team and worked well to all be successful on the court.  Congratulations on a wonderful season and keep working hard to reach your dreams.

8TH GRADE REDThe 8th grade red team defeated Dexter 18-25, 25-15, 25-12.   Leaders for the team were Mollie K and Katelyn A in serving, Katelyn A in setting Ronnie S in passing and Sophia G in hitting. 

BEDFORD FIRE EXPLORERS RECRUITING NIGHT
Bedford Fire Department will be recruiting students between the ages of 14-17 to join the Fire Explorers. The recruiting night will take place October 29, 2017 at 6 PM at the Bedford Fire Department (1106 W. Temperance Road). Anyone interested should plan to attend. HALLOWEEN  BAKE SALE AND PARTY
Student Council is holding a Halloween bake sale all week to support our party on Friday.

Time: 6pm to 8pm
Wrist Bands on sale during lunch all week for only $5.00 dollars. Yes you can buy wrist bands at the door on Friday for the same price.
There will be a 
Haunted Library
Music and dance in the cafeteria
Concessions will be available
Games and Contests in the gym.
Don't miss out buy your Wrist bands early.

Students from other schools may not attend our BJHS dances. Costumes can be worn but need to meet dress code as well as no parts of costumes can be brought that resemble weapons of any kind.

JUGGLING CLUB
Juggling club is cancelled this week due to the Halloween Party.  It will resume in 2 weeks on Friday, November 10th.

RED RIBBON WEEK
This week is Red Ribbon Week and the theme for this year is “Your Future Is Key, So Stay Drug Free”. Celebrate being drug free with a new theme each day!

Tuesday 10/24 - Neon Day - We're too bright to do drugs!
Wednesday 10/25 - Orange day (district wide) - Orange you glad you're drug free?
Thursday 10/26 -  USA Day - Make America Free from drugs!
Friday 10/27 - Hawaiian Day - "Lei" off drugs!
Monday 10/30 - Superhero day - Save yourself from drugs!
Tuesday 10/31 - Costume Day - Scare off drugs!
Costumes can be worn but need to meet dress code as well as no parts of costumes can be brought that resemble weapons of any kind

We will also be selling bracelets during lunches that will sell  for $1 each that say "Live Drug Free, Drugs Are Not For Me” and Hawaiian Lei’s for Friday October 27ths theme to “Lei Off Drugs”.

Let’s show our commitment to being drug free! And please promote Red Ribbon Week with your students!

PICTURE RETAKE DAY - THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26
Picture retakes are scheduled for October 26, 2017 during homeroom.  Forms can be picked up at the door monitor's deskIf you are not happy with the photo taken on picture day, bring your entire package back to school on retake day, October 26, and turn it in to the photographer when you get your picture retaken.  You will receive the same package with your new picture.

BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
Attention basketball players!  The second annual Anthony Miracola 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament will be played November 4, 2017.  The Basketball Wizard is holding the tournament for boys and girls in grades 3-10.  The cost is just $20 a player. Teams may consist of 3-5 players. Games begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, at Mircola Gym.  Come ready to compete!  See Coach Green in room # 201 for entry forms and details.  Good luck hoopers! 

ALL MULES MATTER
All mules matter meets every Monday during your homeroom time in the media center with Mrs. Mihalec. 

DRESS CODE
Students, while the temps stay warm, be sure to dress for the weather and for our dress code here at the school. While we certainly need to stay cool, we also need to keep our shorts and shirts within the ranges set forth in the dress code. 

BACKPACKS
Just another reminder. . . Don't carry your backpacks to class. You must keep your backpacks in your locker. 

EARLY DROP OFFS
If you are dropped off at school before 7 a.m, you need to stay in the cafeteria with Mrs. Gibson. She will release you to your lockers at 7.  

8th HOUR
8th Hour is held in the media center.  It runs from 2:35 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Meet in the front lobby by the door monitor and you will be walked to the media center   Forms can be picked up in the office.

NO CELL PHONES DURING SCHOOL HOURS
Students: Cell phones are not allowed during school hours. Your phone should be in your locker and turned off at 7:25 a.m. They cannot be used until 2:30 p.m. Cell phones are NOT permitted during lunches. 

HEALTH ROOM RULES
Students who need to go to the health room must get a pass from the teacher they are coming from AND they should also check in with their next hour teacher to let them know where they are.
