8TH GRADE REGISTRATION/FOCUS ON 8TH GRADE CURRICULUM MEETING
Attention 7th graders!  If you have not turned in your 8th grade registration forms, please bring them to the office today. Parents of 7th grade students should plan to attend the 8th grade Focus on Curriculum meeting tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the BJHS Cafeteria.

STUDENTS INTERACT
Students who were invited to tomorrow's session of Students Interact should have already turned in their permission slip.  Assignments for tomorrow should be gathered today.  Tomorrow morning, students should meet in the cafeteria.  Do not go to first hour.  Coats and any other belongings should be brought along to the cafeteria.  Attendance will be taken in the cafeteria.

PENNIES FOR PATIENTS
The junior high is raising money for "Pennies for Patients" and joins 29,000 schools nationwide in the fight against blood cancer.  All proceeds will help people who are sick with Leukemia and Lymphoma.  All you have to do is buy from our bake sale during lunch .   Out goal is to raise $300 or or more!  All 7th and 8th grade Student Council members should remember to bring in baked goods.

THE BJHS ANNUAL LITERARY MAGAZINE IS BACK!
The BJHS Literary Magazine is back!  Submit any poems or short stories (appropriate).  The box will be in the junior high school office.  Please, no anonymous submissions allowed.  Thank you for submitting your masterpiece into our publications class Literary Magazine

MICHIGAN LEAGUE MATH TEST
The Michigan League Math Test will be given today, February 25, to students who signed up. The test will be given during second hour for seventh and eighth grade students and sixth hour for sixth grade students. Seventh and eighth grade students should report to their second hour class for attendance, then report to the cafeteria.  Sixth grade students should report to their sixth hour class for attendance, and then report to the cafeteria.  All students should bring their calculator and several pencils for the test.

ART CLUB - GRADES 6, 7, 8 
Calling all artists! Art Club will be held every Thursday from 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. in room 134.  Please make sure you have a ride home.


JUGGLING CLUB - GRADES 6, 7, 8
Don’t forget!  Juggling Club meets on Fridays in the cafeteria from 2:30-3:30.  See Mr. Allison in room # 124 if you have any questions.  Be sure to have a ride home.

AFTER SCHOOL CODING --  GRADES 6, 7, 8 - MEETS TODAY
Do you want to have some fun after school?  On Tuesdays, attend the After School  Coding Club in lab 34 with Mrs. Adkins from 2:30-3:30 p.m..  Build some awesome apps and games with friends. Be sure to have a ride home.  

BASKETBALL
The Bedford 7th grade red basketball team lost 12-8 against Dexter Gold.  Ashley Merrick and Paige Balcerzak played well.

The 8th grade red team improved their record to 8-0 with an 11-9 win over Dexter Gold.

The 7th grade white team lost to Chelsea Blue 23-8.

The 8th grade white team defeated Chelsea Blue 18-8.  Lynsey Spotts led the way in scoring.  Olivia Cook and Caitlin Stieber also played well.

7TH AND 8TH GRADE TRACK - PRACTICE BEGINS MARCH 17
Attention all 7th and 8th grade girls and boys interested in being on the Track and Field teams this spring; the first day of practice is Monday, March 17. 

All track athletes must have a current physical form on file to begin practice.  If this is your first sport for the school year, you need to pick up a physical form from the junior high office or Coach Bauer in the health room.  This must be filed out by your doctor and turned in to your coach no later than the first day of track practice.  

All girls and boys planning to participate in Track must pick up the Transportation and Concussion paperwork in the health room  These forms need to be filled out by  your parents and turned in to your coach on the first day of practice.  

There are no tryouts for track.  Everyone who joins participates!

3 ON 3 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
Any girls or guys who enjoy playing basketball are eligible to play in this year's 3 on 3 basketball tournament. For more information, stop by the office and pick up a flyer. 

ATHLETIC OFFICE REMINDER 
Any student trying out for a sport for the first time this school year, this spring, must have an updated physical on file in the athletic office.  You will not be allowed to tryout out on March 10th without one.

SOIREE JUNIOR SINGERS
This is your chance to share the spotlight!  Become a junior soiree member!   The program will include training in voice projection, dance, poise, and what it takes to be a Soiree Singer!  All students are invited, even if you never danced or performed in a choir.  Registration forms and more information are available in the office.

SOFTBALL - OPEN GYM - EVERY SUNDAY
Attention 7th and 8th grade girls interested in playing softball this spring; come to open gym and get ready for tryouts and the season ahead.  Open gym time will be held on Sundays from noon until 2:00 p.m. starting January 26, and running through March 9.  This is a great  opportunity to start throwing, hitting, and   field before tryouts.  Check out www.bedfordsports.com for more details and contact information.


AFTER SCHOOL EVENTS
Students should ride the bus home after school.  If they wish to attend or watch an after school event, parents should bring them back to school.  Students are NOT allowed to wander the hallways during events.  If you do come back to school, or stay after school to participate in a club, please be sure to stay in the area you belong in.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL FORMS
If you did not turn in your Emergency Medical Form, please turn it in.  (Forms are green, yellow, or salmon;.and they were mailed home in the summer mailing.)  Remember to update all contact numbers and sign the back.  To change a student's address, you must present a Michigan Driver's License with the current address, mortgage or lease paper, and a utility bill.

BE PROMPT!  DON'T MISS YOUR BUS
After school, when going out to your bus, be prompt!  The bus drivers will not allow students on the bus after 2:33 p.m.  

SAVE YOUR POP TABS!
Here is your chance to take part in a community service project!  Bring in your pop tabs, and they will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. They will be recycled for cash to help the children in the hospital. The Ronald McDonald House is a Children's Hospital that helps children in need of medical care and allows the family to stay close to the hospital.  Bring in your pop tabs now to the office or to Mrs. Currie's room
# 203.

NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY
NJHS students should remember to check their email for upcoming events.

BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU WALK!!!
When students walk to school, they should please use the sidewalk next to the high school by the grass and not the sidewalk island next to the bus depot.  We want to make sure everyone is safe.  With the dark mornings, it is unsafe to walk through the depot.

8TH HOUR
Eighth hour is open to all students at BJHS.
