TALENT SHOW TRYOUTS - LAST CHANCE - THIS WEEK 
The event of the season is coming up in a few weeks, and this is your chance to be a part of it!  Show off your talent, any kind of talent, at the BJHS Talent Show.  Tryouts will take place today and tomorrow right after school in room # 130 from 2:30-3:30 p.m.

8TH GRADE PANORAMIC PICTURES

Attention all 8th graders!  Don’t forget to take home your panoramic picture order form.  Bring your completed order envelope, with payment enclosed, back to school on Wednesday for your panoramic picture.  

ATTENTION ALL MATH STUDENTS!  MICHIGAN LEAGUE COMPETITIVE MATH TEST 
If you signed up to take  the Michigan League Competitive Math Test, don't forget to pick up a practice test so you can be better prepared to take the test.  Your math teacher was given a copy of last year's test.  Use last Year's tests as a practice test.  The test is Tuesday, February 18.  There is not too much time left to study.  Make sure you are as prepared as you can be!

YEARBOOKS SALES  END FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 14
Yearbooks are on sale now.  The cost is $45.  Yearbooks are sold during all lunch hours. Make checks payable to BJHS. Flyers were given to each student, and additional flyers are also available in the office.

SPELLING BEE - RESCHEDULED
The spelling bees have been rescheduled to Monday, February 3, 2014.  
The 8th Grade Spelling Bee will take place at 10:30 a.m. in the BJHS Media Center
The 6th Grade Spelling Bee will take place at 11:30 a.m. in the BJHS Media Center

ART CLUB 
Calling all artists! Art Club will be held every Thursday from 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. in room 134.  Please make sure you have a ride home.


JUGGLING CLUB 
Don’t forget!  Juggling club meets on Fridays in the cafeteria from 2:30-3:30.  See Mr. Allison in room # 124 if you have any questions.  Be sure to have a ride home.

AFTER SCHOOL CODING --  GRADES 6, 7, 8 - MEETS TOMORROW
Do you want to have some fun after school?  On Tuesdays, attend the After School  Coding Club in lab 34 with Mrs. Adkins from 2:30-3:30 p.m..  Build some awesome apps and games with friends. Be sure to have a ride home.  

SOIREE JUNIOR SINGERS
This is your chance to share the spotlight!  Become a junior soiree member!   The program will include training in voice projection, dance, poise, and what it takes to be a Soiree Singer!  All students are invited, even if you never danced or performed in a choir.  Registration forms and more information are available in the office.

GIRLS' BASKETBALL
Today the 7th and 8th grade red basketball teams will host Saline Gold beginning at 4:15 p.m.
Come back to school and support the Lady Broncos!

Good luck to the white basketball teams.  Today they will travel to play Lincoln.  Their games begin at 4:15 p.m.

WRESTLING
The wrestlers finished 4-0 on Saturday to capture the Bronco Duals Championship.  The Broncos recorded two top-sided wins against Ida 78-15 and Milan 102-3 before outlasting rival Dundee 55-45.  The finals matched Bedford against Monroe Jefferson in one of the most exciting matches in recent history.   The Broncos took the early lead 30-12 but Jefferson fought back to go ahead 30-36.  Hunter Gandee's pin tied the match at 36 with 4 matches to go.  the Broncos swept all 4 securing the victory 54-36.  Great job everyone! The wrestlers travel to Chelsea and Ypsi this week! 

SOFTBALL - OPEN GYM\
Attention 7th and 8th grade girls interested in playing softball this spring; come to open gym and get ready for tryouts and the season ahead.  Open gym time will be held on Sundays from noon until 2:00 p.m. starting January 26, and running through March 9.  This is a great  opportunity to start throwing, hitting, and   field before tryouts.  Check out www.bedfordsports.com for more details and contact information.


LACROSSE
Any student, boy or girl, in 7th or 8th grade interested in playing Lacrosse this season should come with their parents to the informational meeting on Feb 18th at 7:00 PM.  Also, conditioning has started and you’re not too late to join us.  Please talk to any player for details.

3B BASEBALL SIGN-UPS - THIS WEEK - WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY
The 3B baseball sign-ups are coming up!  February 5th, and 6th, from 6-8 p.m. at the high school in the main lobby.  You can also check out the website 3bbaseball.org for our up-to-date features that include online sign-ups and bill payment. ANNUAL DADDY/DAUGHTER VALENTINE DANCE - THIS SATURDAY
Girls;  make a date with your dad to attend the daddy/daughter dance on Saturday,  February 8, 2014, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Informational flyers are available in the junior high office or at the Community Education Office.  The cost is $12 per person.

AFTER SCHOOL EVENTS
Students should ride the bus home after school.  If they wish to attend or watch an after school event, parents should bring them back to school.  Students are NOT allowed to wander the hallways during events.  If you do come back to school, or stay after school to participate in a club, please be sure to stay in the area you belong in.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL FORMS
If you did not turn in your Emergency Medical Form, please turn it in.  (Forms are green, yellow, or salmon;.and they were mailed home in the summer mailing.)  Remember to update all contact numbers and sign the back.  To change a student's address, you must present a Michigan Driver's License with the current address, mortgage or lease paper, and a utility bill.

BE PROMPT!  DON'T MISS YOUR BUS
After school, when going out to your bus, be prompt!  The bus drivers will not allow students on the bus after 2:33 p.m.  

SAVE YOUR POP TABS!
Here is your chance to take part in a community service project!  Bring in your pop tabs, and they will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. They will be recycled for cash to help the children in the hospital. The Ronald McDonald House is a Children's Hospital that helps children in need of medical care and allows the family to stay close to the hospital.  Bring in your pop tabs now to the office or to Mrs. Currie's room

NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY
NJHS students should remember to check their email for upcoming events.

BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU WALK!!!
When students walk to school, they should please use the sidewalk next to the high school by the grass and not the sidewalk island next to the bus depot.  We want to make sure everyone is safe.  With the dark mornings, it is unsafe to walk through the depot.

8TH HOUR
Eighth hour is open to all students at BJHS.
