AFTER SCHOOL EVENTS
If students are attending after school events that do not start immediately after classes, they must go home and return to school when the activity begins.  Please, do not leave unsupervised students at school.

Cell phones should be turned off once a student enters the building in the morning.  

SAFETY VEHICLE DAY - JACKMAN ROAD ELEMENTARY
Today is Safety Vehicle Day at Jackman Road Elementary from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  This is a planned, instructional  event.  A dozen different agencies will be participating, and their personnel will be arriving in or with their respective safety vehicles.  There will be fire trucks, police cars, ambulances, boats , and even a helicopter.

RELAY FOR LIFE - BRONCO BASH - CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF PARTICIPATION
The Relay for Life Bronco Bash has been cancelled due lack of ticket sales!  
 LIFETOUCH - SPRING PICTURES - NEXT WEEK
Lifetouch photographers will be at the junior high on Tuesday, May 7, to take spring pictures.  Order forms were distributed to all students in their science class.  Spring pictures are not mandatory and  must be paid for in advance.  If you would like a spring picture, please have your picture taken during your lunch hours on Tuesday. 

REFLECTIONS RECOGNITION PROGRAM
All of the students who participated in the Reflections Program are invited to Bedford PTSA, 2012-2013, Reflections Program on Wednesday, May 15, at 7:00 p.m. in the Bedford High School Auditorium.  Snacks will be served immediately following the program.

YEARBOOK NEWS
It is almost time for your 2013 yearbook!  Be sure to check the updated yearbook list located in the  cafeteria or Dr. Robinson's room # 130.

NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY – CURRENT MEMBERS
If you are a CURRENT National Junior Honor Society Member, you SHOULD a attend the Induction Ceremony on May 7, Tuesday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m..

Students invited to next week's session of Students Interact should remember to turn in their signed permission slip to Mrs. Connolly by Monday.

8TH GRADE - CAREER DAY - TODAY
The 8th graders will participate in Career Day today.  English teachers have student assignments for the day.  There is also a list on the table on the stage in the cafeteria.

THE GREEN TEAM MEETS TODAY
On behalf of the Bedford Junior High Staff, Mr. Moore would like to thank all of the 30-plus members of the Green Team that have helped to clean up and green up our campus this year.  Your hard work is greatly appreciated!

HIGH SCHOOL - TESTING OUT - DATE CHANGED
This is a reminder to 8th graders who would like to test out of a Freshman class next year.  Applications are online and at the high school in the counseling office.  Applications may be turned in May 1 through June 1.

MARCHING BAND - DRUM LINE TRYOUTS
Drum line tryouts for the 2013 Marching Band will be with Mr. Bates on May 9th and 16th from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the high school band room.

7TH AND 8TH GRADE GIRLS' AND BOYS' TRACK
The 7th and 8th grade boys' track team defeated Adrian yesterday 94 – 43.  Brendan Burns started the day by winning the 3200 M run.  Andrew Farren won the 55 and 200 Hurdles.  Michael Greeley won the 800 M run and the long jump.  Brady Nowak was victorious in the 100 M and the 70 M dash.  Carson Barr took the high Jump and Joseph Whitaker won the shot put.

TH GRADE SOFTBALL
The 8th grade softball team will play Summerfield in a double-header at home today beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Indian Creek.

8TH  GRADE SOFTBALL - RESULTS
The Bedford 8th grade softball team lost 2 games to Summerfield, 5-4 in extra innings and 5-1. The 1st game featured extra base hits by Kristin Hill, Laura Shake and Joey Rowe. Ericka Wilt contributed with two, run-scoring, bunts. In the 2nd game we managed only 3 hits by Kristin Hill, Ericka Wilt, and Diana Pudlicki. The Summerfield pitcher struck out 10 Bedford batters.

7TH GRADE SOFTBALL RESULTS
The 7th grade softball team lost both games last night at home against Dundee.  Megan Tillman, Angel Simon, Jordan Costlow, and Andi Martin each had multiple hits last night.  Andi Martin pitched well in both games and Megan Tillman had a great game behind the plate.

MOTHER/DAUGHTER SPRING FLING DANCE
Welcome spring and celebrate your mom at the Mother and Daughter Spring Fling Dance on Friday, May 10, from 7-9 p.m.  This will be a lot of fun for you, your friends, and your moms!  There will be tasty treats, beautiful decorations, and a DJ playing your favorite songs.  Fliers with more information are available in the office.  Get to the Community Ed office to get your tickets!  They are open Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m.  What a great way to celebrate Mother's Day.
