MEDIA CENTER REMINDER
Today is October 31st, and it is tithe first due date for books from the Media Center.  The only exception to this is for students that are reading a classroom novel with their English class.  Be sure to return or renew all books by the end of the day tomorrow.  Stop down to the Media Center if you are not sure when your book is due.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR - NEXT WEEK
The Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the Bedford Junior High School Media Center next week, November 5-9.  The book fair will be open every day during all lunch hours from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
and in the evenings during Parent/Teacher Conferences. 

MORLEY ORDERS - PICK UP NEXT WEEK
Morley orders will be available for pick up next week, on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, from 2:30 through 8:00 p.m.  Please make arrangements!

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES
The Bedford Junior high School Parent/Teacher Conferences will begin next week:
6th Grade Meetings will be set up with the teacher.  Please look for a note to be sent home by your student's teacher.
7th and 8th Grade Meetings will be by last name:
      November  6 - Last Names beginning with A - G
      November  8 - Last Names beginning with H - M
      November 14 - Last Names beginning with N - Z

HALLOWEEN DANCE
All forgotten Halloween props from the dance will be found in the lost and found bins by the cafeteria.

YEARBOOKS - ON SALE - PRICE INCREASE AFTER NOVEMBER 10 - ORDER NOW
It's that time of year!  It is time to order your yearbook!  The cost is  $40.  Place your yearbook order early; the price will be going up after November 10.  Yearbooks may be purchased during lunch or in
Dr. Robinson's room # 130.  Be sure to put your name and grade on the check.

PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST
The Bronco Charity Club sponsored the pumpkin decoration contest to  help support the Monroe County Humane Society this week Tuesday by having students vote for their favorite staff decorated pumpkin with  their spare change.  The top five staff pumpkin winners were:
     1.  Mrs. Matney - $11.72
     2.  Mrs. Currie - $7.99
     3.  Mrs. Copley-Sansom $5.83
     4.  Mr. Dukate - $3.03
     5.  Mr. Moore - $2.96
Thank you everyone who participated.  So far, the Bronco Charity Club collected $42.85 for the Monroe Humane Society.  Remember, if you still want to donate, members of the Bronco Charity club will be collecting loose change during lunches on Halloween.

MOCK ELECTION
Today is the last day to register to vote in the mock election which will be held on Monday, November 5, in the cafeteria.  -- Sponsored by the Publications Class

REFLECTIONS CONTEST - NOW OPEN!
The PTSA Reflections arts contest is now accepting entries in 6 categories: Visual Arts, Literature, Photography, Film/Video Production, Musical Composition, and Dance Choreography. A set of rules are posted in the Media Center windows and are also available in the office. You can also check online at http://bedfordptareflections.weebly.com/.

Entry forms are available in the Media Center and Office, plus online at the site listed above. Entries can be dropped off in the Media Center and the entry deadline is November 9th. There is no limit on the number of entries you can turn in or the number of categories you can enter.

Every entry will get a prize. Prizes will be handed out on November 12th. On November 12th there will also be a grand prize drawing for a $25 gift certificate. Would you like to increase your chance of winning? Refer-a-Friend! When you submit an entry, a card will be delivered to their homeroom. Give that card to a friend and if they turn in a qualified Reflections entry and that card, you both get an extra ticket in the grand prize drawing!

We have a lot of creative talent here at Bedford Junior High School. We can't wait to see what gets turned in!

BEDFORD JUNIOR HIGH HOLIDAY ART AND CRAFT SHOW
The Bedford Junior High Holiday Art and Craft Show will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012.  There will be over 100 vendors, concessions, bake sale, raffles, shopping and Santa photos.  Crafters and artists are still wanted.  It is not too late!  For vendor information contact Holly Kohler - hollystaste@bex.net or applications are available on the school. website.

BORDERLINE VOLLEYBALL CLUB
USAV 2013 season tryouts will be held on November 4, and November 11, in the Bedford High School Auxiliary Gym for the age groups of 13-18 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. You must have a completed registration to be considered for a position.  Visit the website www.borderlinevolleyball.com to print a registration form.  For more information contact the Director, Amy Hinkle, at hinkleamyl@gmail.com or Bree Russow at dabree5@hotmail.com   Follow USAV on Facebook for all the latest volleyball information!  Information flyers are also available in the Bedford Junior High School office.

GIRLS' BASKETBALL - CONTINUES THIS WEEK
All 7 and 8th grade girls interested in playing basketball this year are welcome to attend the HIGH SCHOOL conditioning this week from 3-4:30 p.m. each day.  This is not mandatory.Workouts will be Monday through Thursday with Friday off.  Athletes should be prepared to workout inside or out.  If you have any questions about the conditioning, you can stop by Coach Burgermeister's room # 27.

SIDELINE BASKETBALL AND COMPETITIVE CHEERLEADING - MEETING
If you missed the Sideline Basketball and competitive Cheerleading meeting last night, email Coach Morgan at bedfordcheer@gmail.com to get a tryout packet and find out what you missed.  It is not too late to decide to tryout!  Tomorrow is the sideline basketball tryouts and next week is competitive tryouts!

LEOS - YMCA
Would you like something fun and meaningful to do?  If so, you are invited to join the YMCA Leos Club. The Leos Club is a fun and energetic group that spends its time volunteering and learning leadership skills. They help out with YMCA sports and events, do community service, and go on trips and service weekends. They meet every Tuesday at 6:30 at the YMCA." The group is a big part of many Jr. High and High School lives. There are dues for Leos but they are really flexible on when they are to be paid. As of right now, they are due around the same time Christmas break is; and they are $25. There is no date of which students have to be registered by. Each month we run Teen Night on the third Saturday. Teens are invited to come and participate in activities that include swimming, dodge-ball, , etc. Entrance is $5 at the door.
