Today is Math MEAP Testing Day.  

RED RIBBON WEEK - NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY - TODAY
NJHS students are invited to help make posters for Red Ribbon week today, October 16, after school in room #134 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

YEARBOOKS - ON SALE
It's that time of year!  It is time to order your yearbook!  The cost is  $40.  Place your yearbook order early; the price will be going up in December.  Yearbooks may be purchased during lunch or in Dr. Robinson's room # 130.

BRONCO CHARITY CLUB - TOMORROW
The Bronco Charity Club will meet on Wednesday, October 18.  The club will have fun performing service projects at BJHS and the community.  See Mrs. Currie in room # 203 for more information.

FLOWER SALE - BJHS SWEETEST DAY
On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday October 17, 18, and 19, our 6th grade students will be having a carnation sale during all lunch times.  Carnations will be on sale for $1 each.  A variety of colors will be available. Please support the sale which will benefit the World Wildlife Fund.

VOLLEYBALL
Last night, the 8th grade Bedford white team traveled to Ypsilanti Lincoln and came away with a 25-19, 25-17, 25-18 victory.  Taylor Haberland and Erika Wilt led the team in serving while Macy Maraugha led the team in kills.  Wednesday will be the white team's last home game.  Come out and support the ladies!

Last night the 8th grade red volleyball team defeated Saline Gold 25-8, 27-25, 25-8.  Madisyn King had 9 points, 4 assists, 3 kills, and 9 digs.  Kristin Hill served strong with 9 points and had 6 digs.  Samantha Synowka also played well with 10 points and 8 digs.  Great team effort!  Way to go Lady Broncos!

The 7th grade white team added another loss to their record last night with a loss against Lincoln.  Scores from the match were 25-16, 22-25, and 22-25.  Despite the loss, Angel Simon and Hailey Walling both did well serving for the girls with 11 service points and 6 service points respectively.  With two games left in the season, the girls play their last home game tomorrow against Chelsea blue!

The 7th grade red volleyball team defeated Saline gold last night with scores of 25-11. 25-22. 25-9.  Megan Tillman and Olivia Scally both led the team with 10 points each.  Koryn King had 5 kills and Ally Rimmer and Heidi Fausze both did an excellent job on defense!  The girls will play at Dexter on Wednesday and will have their last game of the season next Monday.  The red team is now 14-0-1.

FOOTBALL
Good luck to the white football teams.  Today they host Adrian beginning at 4:15 p.m.  Come to the Bedford Community Stadium and support your Broncos! 

The red football teams will travel to play Tecumseh today.  A reminder to athletes and teachers, there is an early 2:00 p.m. dismissal to allow for travel time.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
All 7 and 8th grade girls interested in playing basketball this year are welcome to attend the HIGH SCHOOL conditioning the next two weeks.  This is not mandatory.  The conditioning starts this Monday, October 22, and goes until November 1st at the high school from 3-4:30 p.m. each day.  Workouts will be Monday through Thursday with Fridays off.  Athletes should be prepared to workout inside or out.  If you have any questions about the conditioning, you can stop by Coach Burgermeister's room # 27.

COMMUNITY ED - OHIO SKATE NIGHT
Plan to join your friends for an evening of fun at Ohio Skate on Thursday, October 18, 2012, from 6:00 -8:30 p.m. The admission is $3.50 at the door.  Skate rental is $1 if needed.  This is a Community Ed sponsored event.

LEOS - YMCA
Would you like something fun and meaningful to do?  If so, you are invited to join the YMCA Leos Club. The Leos Club is a fun and energetic group that spends its time volunteering and learning leadership skills. They help out with YMCA sports and events, do community service, and go on trips and service weekends. They meet every Tuesday at 6:30 at the YMCA." The group is a big part of many Jr. High and High School lives. There are dues for Leos but they are really flexible on when they are to be paid. As of right now, they are due around the same time Christmas break is; and they are $25. There is no date of which students have to be registered by. Each month we run Teen Night on the third Saturday. Teens are invited to come and participate in activities that include swimming, dodge-ball, basketball, Xbox, etc. Entrance is $5 at the door.
