BJHS FUNDRAISER
Our school fund raiser began Friday, September 8, 2017, and ends Monday, September 18, 2017. Prizes will be awarded to all who sell 3 or more items.  The top seller in each grade (6th, 7th, 8th) will in a $150 Splash Universe Gift Card.  (Must sell $200 or more)  For every 5 items sold, you will be entered in a drawing for a remote control inflatable.  Money is due one week after orders are picked up. Make checks payable to BJHS or Bedford Junior High School.   Internet ordering information is enclosed in your fund raiser packet.  Items ordered must be picked up after school on Thursday, October 12. 

STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Jasmine W.  has been a great addition to our orchestra program at BJHS since she returned from a brief stay in Turkey. After missing 3/4 of a school year she has worked hard to catch up with her violin skills. Jasmine always brings a cheerful attitude and a desire to continue to make herself a better musician. She does this through hard work each and every day in class as well as taking lessons outside of school. Congratulations Jasmine on being Student of the Week!

8th HOUR
8th Hour begins TODAY, September 12, in the media center.  It runs from 2:35 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Meet in the front lobby by the door monitor and you will be walked to the media center   Forms can be picked up in the office.

NO CELL PHONES DURING SCHOOL HOURS
Students: Cell phones are not allowed during school hours. Your phone should be in your locker and turned off at 7:25 a.m. They cannot be used until 2:30 p.m. Cell phones are NOT permitted during lunches. 

DON'T FORGET BREAKFAST
Breakfast is available every day in our cafeteria.. 

HEALTH ROOM RULES
Students who need to go to the health room must get a pass from the teacher they are coming from AND they should also check in with their next hour teacher to let them know where they are.

EARLY ARRIVERS
If you are dropped off at school before 7 a.m, you need to stay in the cafeteria with Mrs. Gibson. She will release you to your lockers at 7.  

DO NOT CARRY YOUR BACKPACKS TO CLASS
Just another reminder. . . Don't carry your backpacks to class. You must keep your backpacks in your locker.  

PICTURE DAY
School pictures and ID's will be taken TODAY, Wednesday, September 13, 2017, during all science classes. If you wish to purchase a school picture, please be sure to complete the order form, enclose payment, and bring it to school on picture day. Extra forms are available in the office.  Students will give their order form to the photographer when they have their picture taken. Parents can also order online.  DON'T FORGET TO BRING YOUR PICTURE ORDER FORM TO SCHOOL TOMORROW!!!

FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
If you plan to attend any football games you must be with your parents or seated in the stands. You will not be allowed to run and/or engage in horseplay at the end of the field or concession stand area. Last week an elderly gentlemen was knocked over by a group of young students running on the concourse. Students who are not supervised will be removed from the stadium and sent home. 

FOOTBALL T-SHIRTS - ON SALE
T-shirts for this week's football game are on sale in the cafeteria during the lunch hours.  This week's theme is USA/Military Night.  The price is $5.

VOLLEY JUNIORS - VOLLEYBALL
Volley Juniors is new this year and is for 6th graders.  It will be held on Monday nights at the high school beginning September 25.  Flyers and forms to register are in the office.   

COATS & CANDY 
Francis Family YMCA is having a Coats & Candy Drive.  Clean out your closets and bring gently used coats and or bags of Halloween Candy by October 19, 2017 to the YMCA on Dean Road.

COMMUNITY ED
The deadline for Community Ed's Girls Basketball League has been extended to September 20. Parents can register online or stop in Community Ed to register.
