Boys Cross Country
The boys cross country team won the first SEC meet of the season by crushing all 9 league teams.  Micah S. dominated the competition to finish as league champion.  Collin B., Ethan L., Daniel S. and Leo W. all ran brilliant races to help Bedford win.  6th grader Simon V. nearly won the reserve race with an impressive run.  Damien R., Gabe B., Ryan P., Gabe T. and Ethan T. all ran personal best times as well.  Bedford has now beaten over 70 different schools in their first 3 races of the season.   Great job boys. 

Girls Cross Country
The Bedford girls cross country team placed second at their first SEC conference race.  Scoring for the team were Maddy F., Ally B., Maddy H., Ava R., Sydney D., Gracie G., and Emma B..  Several runners made significant improvements including Paige A., Sophia G., Jazmine M., and Alison M..  The team ran hard and put themselves in a position to still win the conference this season.  Congratulations to all of our runners.

BJHS FUND RAISER
Our school fund raiser began Friday, September 8, 2017, and ends Monday, September 18, 2017. Prizes will be awarded to all who sell 3 or more items.  The top seller in each grade (6th, 7th, 8th) will in a $150 Splash Universe Gift Card.  (Must sell $200 or more)  For every 5 items sold, you will be entered in a drawing for a remote control inflatable.  Money is due one week after orders are picked up. Make checks payable to BJHS or Bedford Junior High School.   Internet ordering information is enclosed in your fund raiser packet.  Items ordered must be picked up after school on Thursday, October 12. 

8th HOUR
8th Hour begins TODAY, September 12, in the media center.  It runs from 2:35 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Meet in the front lobby by the door monitor and you will be walked to the media center   Forms can be picked up in the office.

FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
If you plan to attend any football games you must be with your parents or seated in the stands. You will not be allowed to run and/or engage in horseplay at the end of the field or concession stand area. Last week an elderly gentlemen was knocked over by a group of young students running on the concourse. Students who are not supervised will be removed from the stadium and sent home. 

FOOTBALL T-SHIRTS - ON SALE
T-shirts for this week's football game are on sale in the cafeteria during the lunch hours.  This week's theme is USA/Military Night.  The price is $5.


COMMUNITY ED
The deadline for Community Ed's Girls Basketball League has been extended to September 20. Parents can register online or stop in Community Ed to register.

DO NOT CARRY YOUR BACKPACKS TO CLASS
Just another reminder. . . Don't carry your backpacks to class. You must keep your backpacks in your locker. 

 EARLY ARRIVERS
If you are dropped off at school before 7 a.m, you need to stay in the cafeteria with Mrs. Gibson. She will release you to your lockers at 7.  

NO CELL PHONES DURING SCHOOL HOURS
Students: Cell phones are not allowed during school hours. Your phone should be in your locker and turned off at 7:25 a.m. They cannot be used until 2:30 p.m. Cell phones are NOT permitted during lunches. 

HEALTH ROOM RULES
Students who need to go to the health room must get a pass from the teacher they are coming from AND they should also check in with their next hour teacher to let them know where they are.
