M-STEP 6TH GRADE - MAY 1, 3,and 4, 2017
6th grade students as we prepare for M-Step next week, please make sure your chromebook is charged every day. Please make sure you have a pair of earbuds
for the listening portion of the test.
No electronic devices are allowed in the testing area. This includes cell phones, Apple watches and/or any other device. Any disruption can void the test of everyone in the room, so please make sure devices are powered off and in your locker.
Students should be sure to get a good night's sleep and eat a hearty breakfast so they are ready to do their best!
M-STEP TESTING
M-step testing begins:
8th Grade testing is April 11-12, April 25-26 and April 28th
6th Grade testing is May 1, and May 3-4
7th grade testing is May 9, May 11, and May 16-17

WRITING CLUB
Have you ever written about conspiracy theories? What about Valentine's Day mysteries? Have you ever typed out a heart-melting, tragedy-stricken play? Do you want some feedback on a writing of yours? Do you just want to WRITE, period? If any of these apply to you, come on down to Writing Club, Tuesdays after school, from 2:40 to 3:40, in Ms. Deporre's room. All you need is your chromebook, your imagination, and a ride home. KNIT AND CROCHET CLUB
Knit and Crochet Club will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, from 2:30 to 3:30 in room # 29 with Mrs. Adkins. Bring a friend.
LACROSSE
The Bedford Jr. High Lacrosse team played a very skilled team from Perrysburg on Saturday. The weather and field conditions made for a very difficult day with Bedford losing 18 to 4. However, it was not without it’s bright moments. Once again there was unselfish play by the team with shots coming from 10 players. Goals were scored Saturday by Dillon D, Josh P, Eryk M and Jack M. Our next game is this coming Saturday with a tournament in Dexter. There we will face more teams from the league being Dexter, Tecumseh and Canton. We anticipate some close and tough games this weekend. As always, we appreciate your support of the Jr. High Lacrosse team.
DRESS CODE
With the warmer temperatures, please keep in mind we adhere to a dress code at the junior high school. Here is a portion of the dress code:
Shorts and skirts need to be past the palm of your hand and touch a portion of your fingers
Muscle shirts cannot have jagged cuts and must have an appropriate tank under the arms
All tops must have straps that are 2 fingertip widths or wider and must cover all parts of undergarments.
All tops must cover the waistband of your pants.
You will be asked to call home immediately if you are violating the dress code.
BOOK DRIVE
Need to get some spring cleaning done? Starting May 1, there will be a book drive. All donations will be given to the Family House of Toledo to help homeless families. Any and all books will be accepted from May 1 to May 5. Donations may be dropped of in the junior high school office.

BLUE FLOATS
Blue floats will be on sale for the last time today during all lunches for $1. All proceeds go to Autism Awareness.
DROP OFF ITEMS
Students, if your parents drop off items for you during the day, they will be held at the front door with our door monitor. Students will only be called down during class change so as not to interrupt class time. Please listen to announcements during the class changes for your name. At that time, you may pick up your items from the door monitor.
YOUNG WRITER'S DAY
The Junior High will be holding a Young Writer's Day later this school year. This event celebrates creative writing and allows students to share and develop an original work of fiction in a safe and structured environment. This is open to all grade levels. If you are interested, pick up a form from Mrs. Matlow in room 35 or Mr. Lorenz in room 38.
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Box Top collections !! This year we will be collecting box tops and having a friendly competition between home rooms. This is an easy way to fund raise for the extra things our classrooms my need throughout the year. Just ask your students and parents to clip and save. Deposit them in the collection boxes with your homeroom name on them (or place in Mrs. Nimigean's mailbox in the high school or Mr. Muck's mailbox in the junior high).We will collect for 3 months for each giveaway.Winners will be awarded the first of December, March and June (top collector in each building). Make sure you get them turned in for a homeroom treat!

Students who are leaving school early for an appointment should remember to come to the office first thing in the morning before school starts to receive an exit pass. They should not give their notes to their teachers. Do not wait until lunch to receive your exit pass.
