2016-17 BHS MARCHING BAND COLOR GUARD
Congratulations to the following people who made the BHS Marching Band Color Guard: Lori Cooper, Mariah Frobel, Mackenzie Garnett, Clara Gill, Hannah Huson, Blake Lajiness, Lauren Linnebur, Madeleine Matthews, Jessica Rice, Kit Tillman, Audrey Way, Nikki Hawkins.


7TH GRADERS THAT SIGNED UP FOR AMERICAN CULTURES
Attention 7th graders that signed up for American Cultures your test will be next Thursday May 19th after first hour attendance.

SIDELINE CHEERLEADING
If you are interested in sideline cheerleading, tryouts will be May 31st from 3-6 and June 1st and 2nd from 3-5:30 in the High School new gym.  Packets are available in the office.

8TH GRADERS
8th graders interested in Summer Test Out for Freshman year applications are on the High School Counseling webpage.  Applications and money are due to the High School by May 27th.

BABY PHOTOS
8TH graders should bring in a baby photo to put in the WHO IS THIS? Contest next week during lunches.  Make sure it is marked on the back with your name and is NOT the original photograph.

GIRLS SOFTBALL
The 8th grade softball team beat Summerfield, 12-1, on Thursday. Leading the way on offense was Abbey Anderson, going 3 for 4 at the plate. Carli Emerson, Lexi Angus, Sophia Dauterman, Tevy Weiss & McKenna Wilke each singled with RBI's.
The team played strong on defense throughout the entire game. They play again tonight at Saline.

GIRLS TRACK
The girls track team lost last night against a tough Lincoln team 77-60. Scoring in distance were Bella Johnson, Belle Easton, and Makayla Orner. Scoring in sprints and field events were Emma Wagenhauser. Hannah Bobrowski, Rowan Brittain, Laney Cubberly, Lauren Nigh, Jade Gutierrez, Crystal Jajou, Alyssa Crawford, Emily Cooker, Grace Barfield, and Marie Pavlis. The team had a lot of great PR’s last night and fought hard in every event. Best of luck against Chelsea on Monday. Go Broncos.



7TH GRADE FIELD TRIP TO MUD HENS
Remember to bring your completed permission slip and money during lunch hours on May 18, 19, and 20.

CROSS COUNTRY
All 8th grade girls interested in running cross country at the high school next fall are encouraged to attend a meeting with Coach Davis on Thursday, May 19, at 7:00 p.m. at the junior high school in Mr. Davis's room, # 217.  It is important to attend with a parent or guardian.  Important summer training, camp, and season information will be discussed.  If you plan on running next  year, plan on being there and bring a friend, new runners are always welcome. 

All 8th grade boys interested in running cross country in the fall are encouraged to attend a meeting with Coach Earl on May 19, at 7:00 p.m. in the junior high media center.  At the meeting, we will be discussing important summer training expectations, going over important paperwork, and we will be starting to take deposits for cross country camp.  If you plan on running next year, plan to attend the meeting.  New runners to the sport are welcome.  

HALLWAY RULES - NO FOOD OR DRINKS
Water bottles, drinks, and food are strictly prohibited in the hallways as 
of now. We are having increasing issues with spills, messes and school property being damaged. Teachers, if you see students out in the halls with these items and they do not have a doctor's note allowing it with them, take or discard the bottles. Food items are never allowed to be opened and transported.

M-STEP STATE TESTING FOR 7TH GRADE
M-step takes place for 7th graders May 10, 12, 17, 18.  M step make-ups will continue through May 27, 2016.  Students should have their chromebooks fully charged each day.  Also remember to bring earbuds or headphones and your charger everyday of testing.  Absences are unexcused during this window.  See Mr. Hurley if you have any questions.

BUS ROUTES THAT CAN NOT HAVE EXTRA RIDERS 
At this time we are experiencing a number of overcrowded buses with 3 to a seat and we are unable to accommodate extra riders. The following bus routes are not excepting bus passes until further notice. We are taking student counts on all runs and will be adjusting routes over the next couple weeks.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE BUS ROUTE # THAT YOU WILL BE RIDING ON YOUR NOTE BEFORE YOU BRING IT TO THE OFFICE.

BOX TOPS
Please turn in box tops as we go so there are not so many to count and prepare for redemption.
Place box tops in collection box or deliver to Mr. Muck in room #201.
Please, Make sure 4th hour teacher's name is clearly marked on the bag with the number of box tops in each bag. Keep clipping!!

PHONE USE DURING SCHOOL
Under no circumstances are you allowed to text your parents or anyone else during the school day. If you are feeling ill, come down to the health room. If you forgot something or need something, please ask your teacher for permission to call home. After this week, if a student is found to be texting for these reasons, you will receive the 2 penalty halls for cell phone violations.

CHROMEBOOK REMINDER
Students please remember to limit what you take to each class. Chromebooks can not be stacked on several books. The bottom of the blue case has support to one book only. Carrying several books increases the chance for your chromebook to slip and break. Broken chromebooks will have to pay a $25 deductible to get it fixed.

Students should always carry chromebook cases by the handle.

Students, please remember you need to report to your next class before coming to the Health Room. Do not stop in between classes unless it is an emergency.

DRESS CODE REMINDER
No leggings, yoga pants or joggers unless the top is fingertip length or longer. Also, shorts and skirts are to be fingertip length or longer.
