DRESS CODE REMINDERS
Shorts should be finger-tip length.
There should be NO holes, rips, tears, or frays in pants or other clothing.
Tank tops should be modest.

The James P. McHugh Academic Excellence Banquet has been rescheduled to May 7, 2014, due to the new Quarter 3 end date.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WINNERS OF THE MONROE COUNTY SCIENCE FAIR
Congratulations to the winners of the Monroe County Science Fair:

Maggie Naco won third place in the Earth Science Category
Aubrie Zeunen won third place in the Life Science Category.
Honorable mention went to Brandon Ullery , Jackson Rogers, and Natalie Harper.

AMERICA'S CULTURE ESSAY PLACEMENT TEST
Seventh grade students who signed up for America's Culture next year will be given the America's Culture Essay Placement Test on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, in the cafeteria during first hour. Students should report to first hour for announcements and attendance, and then they should report to the cafeteria with 2 pencils. 

MATH-A-THON
Any student who still has Math-a-thon pledges, please bring them to room 230.  Thank you to all students who participated in helping St. Jude Hospital help kids with cancer.

THE BJHS ANNUAL LITERARY MAGAZINE IS BACK!
The BJHS Literary Magazine is back!  Submit any poems or short stories (appropriate).  The box will be in the junior high school office.  Please, no anonymous submissions allowed.  Thank you for submitting your masterpiece into our publications class Literary Magazine.

AFTER SCHOOL CODING -  GRADES 6, 7, 8 - MEETS TOMORROW 
After School Coding Club meets on Tuesdays in lab 34 with Mrs. Adkins from 2:30-3:30 p.m.  Build some awesome apps and games with friends. Be sure to have a ride home.  

THE GREEN TEAM - MEETS TOMORROW
A new club for spring has arrived!  It is the Green Team.  The Green Team was founded by Mr. Moore and this year will be hosted by Mrs. Nimigean.  

The Green Team will rake. weed, clean, and plant the grounds surrounding the junior high.  They will meet on Tuesday, April 15, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in room # 40 to discuss what is needed to make a beautiful difference at the junior high and plan dates to meet.     

ART CLUB - GRADES 6, 7, 8
Art Club meets on Thursdays from 2:30-4:00 p.m. in room #134.  See Mrs. Adkins in room # 29 if you have any questions

CHESS CLUB - GRADES 6, 7, 8
Chess Club meets on Thursdays from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in room #130.   See Dr. Robinson in room # 130 if you have any questions.

JUGGLING CLUB - GRADES 6, 7, 8 - MEETS TODAY
Juggling Club meets on Fridays from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.  See Mr. Allison in room # 124 if you have any questions.

TRACK
Good luck to the girls and boys track teams. They will host Tecumseh at their season opener.  Competition begins at 4:15 p.m. Go Broncos!

SOFTBALL
Good luck to the 7th grade softball team.  They play their double header at home today against Monroe beginning at 4:00 p.m. 

The 8th grade softball team opens their season at home today.  They host Monroe’s 8th grade team beginning at 4:00 p.m.

DIAMOND DOGS - 12 AND UP BASEBALL TEAM
Congrats to Bedford Diamond Dogs 12 and up baseball team.  They won the Cincinnati baseball tournament this weekend.  BJHS students include Cole Mason, Wes Mathews, Derek Price, Jaden Bloomer, Matt Kohler, Ryan Sullivan, Brice Miller, and Cody Clark. 

AFTER SCHOOL EVENTS
Students should ride the bus home after school.  If they wish to attend or watch an after school event, parents should bring them back to school.  Students are NOT allowed to wander the hallways during events.  If you do come back to school, or stay after school to participate in a club, please be sure to stay in the area you belong in.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL FORMS
If you did not turn in your Emergency Medical Form, please turn it in.  (Forms are green, yellow, or salmon;.and they were mailed home in the summer mailing.)  Remember to update all contact numbers and sign the back.  To change a student's address, you must present a Michigan Driver's License with the current address, mortgage or lease paper, and a utility bill.

BE PROMPT!  DON'T MISS YOUR BUS
After school, when going out to your bus, be prompt!  The bus drivers will not allow students on the bus after 2:33 p.m.  

SAVE YOUR POP TABS! -LAST DAY TO BRING IN POP TABS - THURSDAY, APRIL 17
Here is your chance to take part in a community service project!  Bring in your pop tabs, and they will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. They will be recycled for cash to help the children in the hospital. The Ronald McDonald House is a Children's Hospital that helps children in need of medical care and allows the family to stay close to the hospital.  Bring in your pop tabs now to the office or to Mrs. Currie's room
# 203.

NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY
NJHS students should remember to check their email for upcoming events.

BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU WALK!!!
When students walk to school, they should please use the sidewalk next to the high school by the grass and not the sidewalk island next to the bus depot.  We want to make sure everyone is safe.  With the dark mornings, it is unsafe to walk through the depot.

8TH HOUR
Eighth hour is open to all students at BJHS.
