SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR
The Scholastic Book Fair is here this week!  It will be open during your homeroom and lunch hour.  the book fair is trying to build your libraries graphic novel section.  By doing this, all you have to do is donate your extra change in your grade level's bucket that will be located at the Book Fair.  Let's see how much we can raise for your library! 

BOXTOPS FOR EDUCATION

Boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen; it is that time of year again where you can make a difference and help your school.  All you have to do  is bring in boxtops!  Clip off "Boxtop" labels from designated brands and bring them in to your homeroom teacher.  The homeroom with the MOST Boxtops will not onlu be the champs of the school, but will win a "special prize".  The deadline for Boxtops is Friday, October 25th. 


PICTURE RETAKE DAY
Lifetouch school picture RE-TAKE day is Thursday, October 24, during lunch hours, 10:30-12:30.  If you want your picture retaken, bring in your original picture packet, give it to the photographer, and you will receive the same packet with your new picture.
Also, if you are a new student, or if you were absent on picture day in September, please be sure to get your picture taken for your student ID and for the yearbook.

SCHOOL LUNCH WEEK
October 14 -18, is National School Lunch Week!  This year's theme is "What's on Your Playlist?"  We will be serving some of your favorite school lunches this week.  Come celebrate with us in your school's cafeteria.  Students that purchase school lunch every day of NSLW will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a music themed prize!

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD
Are you interested in science?  Do you like a challenge?  Then join Mrs. Leffler on Thursday, October 17, after school to find out about Science Olympiad.  The meeting will be in room # 218 from 2:30-3:30 p.m.
BIBLE FELLOWSHIP CLUB 
Bible Fellowship Club will be meeting  every Thursday after school in room #23 until 3:30PM.  Therefore, everyone must have a ride at 3:30PM.  All are welcome and encouraged to attend.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Brown in room #23.

CROSS COUNTRY  . . . 
Banquet:
Boys' cross country banquet will be on Monday, October 14.
Girls' cross country banquet will be on Tuesday, October 22.

Meet Results:
On Saturday, the girls' cross country team competed and took first place at the Dave Bork Classic in Monroe, Michigan.  Medals were won by Izzy L., Piper B., and Brooklyn M.  Personal records were earned by Brooklyn M., Adrianna K., Zita L., Maddi S., Gretchen H., and Maddi T.  Great job ladies!!!

The junior high boys' cross country team won their final meet of the season on Saturday by beating the other 9 teams at the Dave Bork Invitational in Monroe, Michigan.  Simon V. used the aerodynamics of his new hair cut to come in first with his teammate, Gabe B. coming in second.  Bryce M. and Aidan D. finished as the top 6th and 7th graders in the race.  Other runners having great races were Braiden W., Joe W., Scott S., Adrik R., Grant R., and Andrew K.

The boys finished the season with 117 wins and only 21 losses, and ranked 13th in the State of Michigan on athletic.net.  Great season guys!

Must have a valid physical from this year to tryout.

Please wear a shirt with your last name on it during tryouts.

VOLLEY FOR THE CURE T-SHIRTS
Bedford's Volley for the Cure Game is Tuesday evening, October 22nd, in the Bedford High School Gym to benefit cancer research and help those living with cancer.  T-shirts are $10 and allows you into the match free!  T-shirt order forms are available at the high school, junior high school, elementary schools, and the Bedford Administration Building at 1623 West Sterns.  

IF YOUR CLASS IS GOING TO THE PUBLIC LIBRARY  . . . 
If your class is going to the public library, next door, you must walk, not run.  Be sure to look for cars.  We are getting reports that students are running out in front of cars because they are not paying attention. l

ELA LAB
Need help with ELA  homework?
Need help with reading or writing for another class? Need to study for an ELA Test or Quiz?
Ask your ELA or homeroom teacher for a pass and come visit Mrs. Knapp in room # 49 during your homeroom 4A or 4B OR Miss Mason in room # 25 during homeroom 5A or 5B for English Lab.  Both teachers will be there to help you!

8TH HOUR
If you need extra help with your homework, plan to attend 8th hour.  8th Hour meets  every week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:35- 3:25 pm.  Students meet in the front lobby.
Please be sure to arrange for a ride home if you are planning to attend.  You must have a signed permission slip or note to attend. Permission slips are available in the office.

IF YOU RIDE THE BUS TO SCHOOL . . . 
Attention all students who ride the bus to school in the morning; please walk on the sidewalk closest to the school when you get off your bus.  When you walk too close tot he buses, it creates a safety issue.

DRESS CODE REMINDER
Undergarments should not be visible at any time (this includes boxer shorts, briefs, underwear, bras, etc.)
Skirts and shorts must be mid-thigh, approximately lower than the palm of the hand.
Low-cut, revealing, bare-midriff tank tops or bare shoulders are not permitted.
Sleeveless tops must be two inches on the shoulder.
