STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Student of the Week for the week of 3/18 is Jed K. He was nominated by Mrs. Tully and here's what she had to say.... Jed is joyful everyday, he's an enthusiastic learner, he devours books, is kind to all, inclusive, and so polite and helpful.

ACADEMIC BANQUET
Congratulations to all the students that were invited to the James P.  McHugh Academic Banquet.  Please remember to get your RSVP to the office by Friday March 29th and pay on myschoolbucks.com by March 29th.

If you did not get invited, and feet you were missed, please see the office to double check your current GPA.  Students that had a 3.7 or above current GPA for the first semester were invited.

MATH COUNTS COMPETITIVE TEAM
Math Counts Competitive Team meets today in Mrs. Winter's room # 201 from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.

SPELLING BEE
The 6th grade spelling bee will be held today at 10:30 a.m. in the media center.

TALENT SHOW
There will be talent show rehearsal on Thursday, March 21st, after school, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Please see Mr. Lopinski in room # 30 for any questions.

ART CLUB
In celebration of Youth Art Month, we will kick off our mARTch Madness tournament.  You will be sent a link to the bracket where you can view the art works and information about the featured artists.  You can also stop by our bracket near the F Hallway to view the works of art.  Each day of the tournament a new google form will be opened and give you the opportunity to vote for your favorite works of art.  Vote for your favorites each round and see who makes it to the finals!

Don’t forget to vote today using the link on the bracket! Your votes will determine the winner of the mARTch madness tournament!

REMINDER 
Just a reminder to students - cell phones are not to be used during the day to text or call their parent to come pick them up when they are not feeling well.  (Please do not email either). Students are to come to the health room.  You can use the student phone located in the office.  Too many parents are showing up for their sick student and the health room/office is not aware.  Please see your Student Handbook regarding use of Cell Phones.

DRESS CODE 
Just a reminder to parents and students about the school dress code. Jeans with rips or holes in them is not allowed. Also, hoods of any kind are not to be worn inside the building.

SPORTS






















7th/8th grade girl softball tryouts started Monday, March 18th, 3:00-5:00. Please be prepared for indoor or outdoor, and bring all equipment. 


Reminder to all boys and girls interested in running track this spring, practice began on Monday after school. Come prepared to practice outside with warm clothes if necessary.
