APRIL 7,2017

FRIDAY APRIL 7, 2017

STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Congratulations to Elizabeth S. our student of the week. Elizabeth was nominated by Mrs. Mahoney and Mr. Tierney. Elizabeth is a student who always goes above and beyond the required assignments and projects in my science class. She enjoys learning and spreading her wealth of knowledge with others. We enjoy her smiling face and sparkling personality.

M-STEP TESTING
M-step testing begins next week
8th Grade testing is April 11-12, April 25-26 and April 28th
6th Grade testing is May 1, and May 3-4
7th grade testing is May 9, May 11, and  May 16-17

Be sure your student gets a good night’s sleep and eats a hearty breakfast so they are ready to do their best! Please help them to make sure their chromebook is charged everyday and that they have a pair of earbuds for the listening portion of the test. Also, NO electronic devices are allowed in the testing area. This includes cell phones, Apple watches and or any other device. Any disruption can void the test of everyone in the room so please make sure devices are powered off and in their locker or left home.

DROP OFF ITEMS
Students, if your parents drop off items for you during the day, they will be held at the front door with our door monitor. Students will only be called down during class change so as not to interrupt class time. Please listen to announcements during the class changes for your name. At that time, you may pick up your items from the door monitor.

AUTISM AWARENESS MONTH
We will be having daily announcements with facts about Autism.

Friday they will be selling Blue Floats during lunch hours to help raise money for only $1.

Monday, April 10 through Wednesday, April 13, NJHS will be hosting Penny Wars to raise money for Autism Awareness. Bring any change you have and support your lunch hour.

SPRING PHOTOS
Spring photo forms will be sent home on Thursday. They should be returned with your student if you want to order so they can have their photo taken on Monday April 10, 2017. Photos will be taken during your students lunch hour.

VOLLEYBALL SUMMER CAMP
7th and 8th grade volleyball players, there are flyers in the office for Bedford's summer camp. Any other students 6-8th grade are welcome also! Please pick up a flyer in the office.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Box Top collections !! This year we will be collecting box tops and having a friendly competition between home rooms. This is an easy way to fund raise for the extra things our classrooms my need throughout the year. Just ask your students and parents to clip and save. Deposit them in the collection boxes with your homeroom name on them (or place in Mrs. Nimigean's mailbox in the high school or Mr. Muck's mailbox in the junior high). We will collect for 3 months for each giveaway.Winners will be awarded the first of December, March and June (top collector in each building). Make sure you get them turned in for a homeroom treat!

HANDBOOK REMI
NDER
Students who are leaving school early for an appointment should remember to come to the office first thing in the morning before school starts to receive an exit pass. They should not give their notes to their teachers. Do not wait until lunch to receive your exit pass.

SAFETY REMINDER
When getting off of the bus in the morning, be sure to stay on the sidewalk to get to the junior high. Do not walk on the cement island.

CHROMEBOOKS
Students please remember to limit what you take to each class. Chromebooks can not be stacked on several books. Carrying several books increases the chance for your chromebook to slip and break.

HEALTH ROOM VISITS
You must report to your next hour teacher before coming to the health room unless it is an emergency. That way your teacher knows where you are.
