CROSS COUNTRY
BOYS
The Bedford Junior high boys cross country team were champions of the Clay Invitational on Saturday.  They finished 40 points ahead of the second place team on their way to winning the 15 team race.  Ty Smith once again finished as champion, beating all 200 runners in the race.  7th graders Micah Scheffer, Colin Balla, Ethan Lingle, and Preston Manard were the rest of the top five for the team, and all finished in the top 20 of the race.  Ethan Gartee, Jack Harrison, Preston Ulery and Spencer Lingle all ran great races as well to help the team.  Another great race for the team!  Their next meet is the Monroe Milers Invitational this Saturday.

GIRLS
The cross country girls competed shorthanded on Saturday at the Clay Invitational.  They had a tough day after an exceptional performance last Wednesday, finishing 10th out of 12 teams.  Scoring for our team were Anna Sutterfield, Alex Knapp, Presley Schmus, Alana Frederick, Krista Roessle, Emily DeGrace, and Addison Nowak.  Congratulations to Anna Sutterfield for her top finish and sole PR among the team.  The team will look to rebound at the Monroe Milers Invitational this Saturday.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Both 7th grade volleyball teams competed in the SEC volleyball tournament and were the champions of the event! Way to go girls!

NAIL POLISH CLUB
Do you like painting your nails? Would you like to learn new designs? Come on down to Room 3 with Mrs. Vincent on Wednesdays starting October 5, 2016, after school from 2:30-3:30. This will be a great opportunity to learn a new hobby. Make sure you have a ride home and see you next Wednesday!

STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Jaelyn Rector has been selected as the student of the week by her science teacher Mrs. Mahoney.   Mrs. Mahoney recommended her because Jaelyn participates in class discussions and keeps her group on task during labs and activities. It is a pleasure to have Jaelyn in my science class.  Jaelyn's parents are Drina Rector and Daniel Rector.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Box Top collections !! This year we will be collecting box tops and having a friendly competition between home rooms. This is an easy way to fund raise for the extra things our classrooms my need throughout the year. Just ask your students and parents to clip and save. Deposit them in the collection boxes with your homeroom name on them (or place in Nimigean's mailbox in the high school or Muck's mailbox in the junior high).

We will collect for 3 months for each giveaway.
Winners will be awarded the first of December, March and June (top collector in each building). Make sure you get them turned in for a homeroom treat!

HANDBOOK REMINDER
Students who are leaving school early for an appointment should remember to come to the office first thing in the morning before school starts to receive an exit pass. They should not give their notes to their teachers. Do not wait until lunch to receive your exit pass.

DROP OFF ITEMS
Students, if your parents drop off items for you during the day, they will be held at the front door with our door monitor. Please listen to announcements during the class changes for your name..At that time, you may pick up your items from the door monitor.

SAFETY REMINDER
When getting off of the bus in the morning, be sure to stay on the sidewalk to get to the junior high. Do not walk on the cement island.

CHROMEBOOKS
Students please remember to limit what you take to each class. Chromebooks can not be stacked on several books. Carrying several books increases the chance for your chromebook to slip and break.

HEALTH ROOM VISITS
You must report to your next hour teacher before coming to the health room unless it is an emergency. That way your teacher knows where you are.
