PICTURE RETAKE DAY – FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25
Friday, October 25, 2013, is Picture Retake Day. If you were unhappy with your school pictures and need them to be retaken, please bring your entire packet to school on Friday, October 25. Picture packets must be turned in to the photographer when you get your new picture taken. The same packet will be given to you with your new picture. ALSO, if you were absent on picture day, be sure to have your picture taken so you can receive and ID card and have your picture in the BJHS Yearbook. OR, if you would like an additional picture package, you may pick up an order form in the office. Pictures must be paid for when you get your picture taken. Pictures will be taken during all lunch hours on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25. Don’t forget!
HAUNTED HALLOWEEN PARTY!!!!
The haunted Halloween Party is this Friday Night! The party begins at 7:00 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m. The party will include games, a DJ, a haunted house, and lots of Halloween goodies! Wrist bands go on sale Tuesday, tomorrow, during all lunches and will be sold all week at lunch time for just $5. The first 50 students to buy wristbands will get TWO FREE BAKED GOODS at the party.

The National Junior Honor Society would like to inform you that this week we will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week is a time to take a stand against drugs. We would like all student to join us in our stand against drugs by following the themes for each day.
Today's theme is Pajama Day - Students Wore their pajamas to school showing their support by putting drugs to sleep.
Tuesday's theme is Team Spirit Day - Wear your favorite team's jersey.
Wednesday will be Super Hero Day
Thursday is Hat Day
Friday is a Red Out

Yearbooks are on sale now; and it is the cheapest time to purchase one. Make sure you order your yearbook early; the price increases soon. The cost is only $43. Yearbooks are sold during all lunch hours. Make checks payable to BJHS. Flyers were given to each student, and additional flyers are also available in the office

The carnation sale to benefit the Wold Wildlife Fun has been extended! Get your flowers while they last and help wildlife at the same time.
FALL CHOIR CONCERT
Our first choral concert of the year is this week!!! Our 7th & 8th grade choir students have worked very hard and will be ready to present an awesome concert with the freshman choir, concert choir, soiree singers and varsity choir. The concert is THURSDAY, OCTOBER 24 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Auditorium. Our concert is entitled "SING!" which will feature a combined choirs song called "Sing!" written by Andrew Lloyd Webber featuring 130 of our vocal students accompanied by our best instrumentalists.

Here is your chance to take part in a community service project! Bring in your pop tabs, and they will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. They will be recycled for cash to help the children in the hospital. The Ronald McDonald House is a Children's Hospital that helps children in need of medical care and allows the family to stay close to the hospital. Bring in your pop tabs now to the office or to Mrs. Currie's room

EMERGENCY MEDICAL FORMS
If you did not turn in your Emergency Medical Form, please turn it in. (Forms are green, yellow, or salmon;.and they were mailed home in the summer mailing.) Remember to update all contact numbers and sign the back. To change a student's address, you must present a Michigan Driver's License with the current address, mortgage or lease paper, and a utility bill.
8TH HOUR
Eighth hour is open to all students at BJHS. Eighth hour is held every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:35-3:25 p.m. Mrs. Benisatto will meet students at the double doors in the front lobby. Attention Girls Cross Country team: Practice will end early today at 3:30 p.m. Make sure you have a ride home.
CROSS COUNTRY
The boys cross country team finished the season by taking 5th place at the unofficial state championship meet. Michael Greeley took first and was crowned state champion. Michael finishes the year as the 3rd fastest junior boy in the country this year. Amazing! The whole team ran well. Noah Scheffer finished second for the team in a personal best time of 11:38. He was the second fastest 7th grader at the championship meet. Jacob Reaume, Alex Zittleman and Brady Huber all finished as medalist while also running the best races of their lives. Our reserve team took 4th in the reserve race. Josh Reitz, Steven Kraine, and Justin Bennett all earned medals while running best times. Ethan Chevalier and Anthony Tomlewski also finished the season with personal best times. Great season guys! These guys are a great example of how hard work leads to success.
