The 8th Grade Red Volleyball Team beat Ypsilanti Lincoln last night, advancing their record to 3-0. The scores were 25-14, 25-8, and 15-11. Leading the team on defense were Sydney Sowash and Grace Sitter each with six digs. Izzy Loe served a great game, earning three aces and several points! Great job lady broncos!

CROSS COUNTRY
GIRLS
The girls cross country team continued its dominant performance in our conference last night with another first place finish in the second SEC Jamboree.  Belle Easton placed first, Molly Koviack placed fifth, Olivia Kruck placed ninth, Maddy Heinrichs placed twelfth, and Macy Miscikowski placed fourteenth out of 156 runners.

According to Athletic.net, which has over 16,000 8th grade runners listed, Belle Easton is ranked as the 21st fastest 8th grader in the country and the 8th fastest in the state of Michigan with a 2 mile time of 12:22. Belle has earned that success through persistence, resilience, and dedication. Everyone in Belle's class should clap now.

Last night, every 7th and 8th grader had a personal record.  A PR is difficult to achieve, and it’s very rare to have so many great performances at one competition.  Kinzie Kohler, Kate Conlan, Anna Garcia, and Emily DeGrace all had significant PRs.  Outstanding job last night team.  Congratulations.

BOYS
The junior high boys cross country team took 2nd at the SEC league meet on Wednesday in Dexter.  They were barely beaten by 2 points by Saline.  The next closest team was Chelsea, who was 53 points behind Bedford, and the remaining 5 league teams were even farther behind.  Bedford was led by superstar Ty Smith, who once again crushed everyone in the league to win the meet.  21 of the 26 boys ran personal best times.  Micah Scheffer, Aiden Burns, Collin Balla, and Ethan Lingle rounded out the top 5 for Bedford behind Ty.  Some of the runners who improved by more than 30 seconds were, Damien Robinson, Isaiah McGee, Nathan Reister, Chase Harrell, Colby Reaume, Kevin Payne, and Brayden Powell.  Great race guys.  Bedford is now one of the top 10 best boys cross country teams in the state of Michigan.

BAKE SALE
Team F.L.A.G. of the Bedford FTC Robotics program is hosting a bake sale during lunches today, and Friday.  All items sold will be 50 cents.  A portion of the proceeds will be donated to charity in honor of Lauren Yates.

FUNDRAISER
Our school wide fundraiser has come to an end.  All orders should be turned in today, September 22, 2016 to the Media Center during your homeroom.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Box Top collections !!  This year we will be collecting box tops and having a friendly competition between home rooms.  This is an easy way to fund raise for the extra things our classrooms my need throughout the year.  Just ask your students and parents to clip and save. Deposit them in the collection boxes with your homeroom name on them (or place in Nimigean's mailbox in the high school or Muck's mailbox in the junior high).

We will collect for 3 months for each giveaway.
Winners will be awarded the first of December, March and June (top collector in each building).   Make sure you get them turned in for a homeroom treat!

HANDBOOK REMINDER
Students who are leaving school early for an appointment should remember to come to the office first thing in the morning before school starts to receive an exit pass.  They should not give their notes to their teachers.  Do not wait until lunch to receive your exit pass.

DROP OFF ITEMS
Students, if your parents drop off items for you during the day, they will be held at the front door with our door monitor.  Please listen to announcements during the class changes for your name..At that time, you may pick up your items from the door monitor.

SAFETY REMINDER
When getting off of the bus in the morning, be sure to stay on the sidewalk to get to the junior high.  Do not walk on the cement island.
CHROMEBOOKS
Students please remember to limit what you take to each class. Chromebooks can not be stacked on several books. Carrying several books increases the chance for your chromebook to slip and break.

HEALTH ROOM VISITS
You must report to your next hour teacher before coming to the health room unless it is an emergency.  That way your teacher knows where you are.
