FOR ALL STUDENTS - TRIMESTER 1 GRADE REPORTS
Trimester 1 ended November 30, 2012.  Teachers will post grades by 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 5.  Grades will be available on HAC Friday, December 7.

FOR ALL STUDENTS - DECEMBER 3, TRIMESTER 2 BEGINS
Today, December 3, is the beginning of Trimester 2.  Please check your schedule for a change in your Computer/Health/Physical Education Class, Computer/Physical Education Class, and Elective Class.
Please check your schedule on HAC. If you need assistance, please stop in the office.

FOR ALL STUDENTS - HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE
The BJHS Holiday Food Drive is still going strong.  Please bring in any food items, cleaning supplies, breakfast bars, or canned food.  We have many families in our community requesting assistance.  The food drive ends December 14.

FOR ALL STUDENTS - HOLIDAY PICTURE MAGNETS/LAMINATES
Holiday picture magnets and laminates were distributed to students today.  If you wish to keep them, please send in your payment.  The cost is $20 for both; HOWEVER, if you send in your payment within 48 hours and include the SANTA SAVINGS $5 OFF COUPON, the cost is only $15.  If you wish to purchase only one sheet, the cost is $12.  If you do not want the magnets and laminates, please return them to the BJHS Office.  

FOR ALL STUDENTS - ROBOTICS

Congratulations to the BJHS Bionic Broncos and the BJHS Loose Screws for winning the FTC Robotics competition this weekend!  After qualifying matches, the Bionic Broncos seeded 1st with a 7 win, 1 tie record.  The Loose screws seeded 2nd.  During Alliance selections for finals, the Broncos selected the Loose Screws to join them in Alliance 1.   This alliance dominated the finals, remaining undefeated through all finals matches.  They went on to win the competition with scores of 155-22 and 165 -86!   

Additionally, the Broncos won the Innovation Trophy for their innovative robot. 
Members of the Bionic Broncos include:Noah Driehorst, Daniel Knapp, TJ Eltschlager, Conner Nieman, Courtney Brothers, Youssef Moosa, Jared Grup, Kira Hanusz,  and Luke Bristoll.

The Loose Screws won the THINK trophy, for their engineering notebook and documentation of their thought process.  
Members of the Loose Screws include:  Max Kazmirski, Morgan Pross, Max Marquardt, Matthew Golovoy, Jakob Therkelsen, Brandon Koenemann, Gabriel Boudagh Zach Prange, Jocelyn Guzman, and Logan Floyd.

Additionally, a community team consisting of some BJHS students, the Basement Dwellers, was awarded the Connect Trophy this year. Members of the Basement Dwellers are:  Sophie Dettling, Steven Kraine, John Kraine, Shane Miller  and Shaina Shah.

All 3 teams will be advancing to states at Plymouth-Canton on Dec. 15.  

At the FLL level, congratulations to BJHS students on the Techno Tigers for finishing 9th out of the top 48 FLL teams in the state for robot performance!  BJHS Members of the Techno Tigers include Emily Grim, Olivia Miller, Maureen Lingle, Katie Dobson and Abby Dobson. 

Great job BJHS Robotics students.  


7TH GRADE - STUDENTS INTERACT
Permission slips for Students Interact should all have been turned in.  If you are attending Students Interact on Wednesday, be sure to ask your teachers for assignments for Wednesday.  Remember, you are responsible for your work for Wednesday.   On Wednesday morning, meet in the cafeteria for attendance.  Do not go to first hour.   

FOR ALL STUDENTS - REFLECTIONS CONTEST - DEADLINE EXTENDED TO DECEMBER 7th
The PTSA Reflections Arts \contest is now accepting entries in 6 categories: Visual Arts, Literature, Photography, Film/Video Production, Musical Composition, and Dance Choreography. A set of rules are posted in the Media Center windows and are also available in the office. You can also check online at http://bedfordptareflections.weebly.com/.

Entry forms are available in the Media Center and Office, plus online at the site listed above. Entries can be dropped off in the Media Center and the entry deadline has been extended to December 7th. There is no limit on the number of entries you can turn in or the number of categories you can enter.

Every entry will get a prize. There will also be a grand prize drawing for a $25 gift certificate. Would you like to increase your chance of winning? Refer-a-Friend! When you submit an entry, a card will be delivered to their homeroom. Give that card to a friend and if they turn in a qualified Reflections entry and that card, you both get an extra ticket in the grand prize drawing!

BIBLE STUDY - CANCELLED THIS WEEK
Due to a school meeting, Bible Study will NOT meet this week Thursday, December 6, 2012.

7 AND 8TH GRADE BOYS' BASKETBALL
The Bedford boys 7th grade white team defeated Monroe last night 23-11 in a well balanced scoring attack by the Broncos.  Michael Greeley led all scorers with 12 points followed by Bryan Kaczanowski with 7.  Nolan Ansara chipped in with 5 points and Zach Lewandowski, TJ Linderman, Dylan Blossom, and Kyle Hudgin each had 4 points.  Brock Andrews, Evan Barr, and Jake Day knocked in a basket a piece.  The white teams will next play Saline on Wednesday .


The 8th grade white team ran their record to 4 and 3 as they were able to beat Monroe 28-12.  Max Birmingham played an incredible all around game scoring 5 points.  Carson Barr, Ben German and Dominic Vasquez led the Bronco's in scoring with 13,10 and 6 respectively.

The Bedford 7th grade red team avenged its only loss of the season by beating Ypsilanti 20-14.  The Broncos were led by Zach Haigy, Brady Long, Bryce Krimmel and Jake Garner. 

The Bedford 8th grade red team lost to Ypsilanti 28-15.  Charles Hilsenbeck, Josh McCormick, Dominic Adduci and Justin Sidoti all played well. 
  


FOR 7 AND 8TH GRADE BOYS INTERESTED IN WRESTLING
Any 7th or 8th grade boy interested in wrestling, practice begins Monday, December 10, after school from 2:45 until 5:00 p.m.  Basketball players may join the wrestling team after basketball season is over.  If you have any questions, see Mr. Andrews in the gym before first hour.
